Hi Cratedream, welcome to the site! Sorry you're having such a rough time with panic attacks, do they stem from something or are they just random? I've personally found this place a great form of support in the forums and the chat, and I hope you can too. It can be a major help having people understand the things you're going through for sure. Hope to see you around here

I Have My P.I.P Assessment Today...
Alexandria replied to Anne Mariner's topic in Introduce Yourself
Good luck! Make sure you relax and give yourself some self-therapy afterwards as it can really take it out of you! -
Yawning lots googled it & now I'm freaking out
Alexandria replied to LouAnne's topic in Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
Your body can yawn more also when you're anxious- I only found this out a few years ago and I was in the same thought process as you! -
Has anyone experienced increased anxiety upon starting an SSRI?
Alexandria replied to Missy2626's topic in Medication
When I first started taking my SSRI's they increased my anxiety but after a couple of weeks it started to lower greatly all at once, it's a very common side effect with early days taking it, just try and ride it out if you can manage it, if not maybe speak to your doctor about it -
Yeah this is on the NHS so luckily I don't have to fork out for it! But thank you both for putting my mind at ease, its not often i worry about things like that but it was the way she said it I guess? Im willing to try anything as long as it gets me doing better and getting out the house

I've been contacting a therapists/psychologists and speaking yesterday they told me I will need a level 4 intervention when I eventually get seen by someone, can anyone tell me what the level 4 means? I'm a little worried as she made it sound like it was a serious matter.

This is a super delayed response, but I've been on these for almost 4 months, I'm now up to 30mg for the time being, and honestly they've been a god send. I'm less twitchy and less panicky, and overall a hell of a lot more relaxed. Before taking them I looked up positive stories to give me the boost to take it, and I'm glad I did.

Introducing myself (33, Australian male)
Alexandria replied to ZigZiglar's topic in Introduce Yourself
Nice to meet you, hope to see you around! -
Well I've already taken it now, so we will see.

Yeah I know that, all ive seen is people reacting badly to it. what im trying to ask is people if they have positive stories or it helping people out, because so far i havent seen one and its making me more anxious about it. I get the whole 'yeah but it might not happen to you' stuff, I'm usually okay with medication thrown at me.

I've been given citalopram to take 10mg every day, starting ASAP, but im really nervous about it because I've read a lot of the side effects on here people were having. last time i took it it made me feel worse, and i'm really worrying about starting to take it. does anyone know any body that responded positive to it?

brain tumor almost my bday and neeed a friend please
Alexandria replied to carola's topic in Health Anxiety
I'm having a hard time understanding if you're afraid you have one or if you actually do, I'm sorry if that comes across as rude or unimportant that isn't my intention. As for friends feel free to message me or I'm sure anyone if you want to talk. We're all dealing with our own demons, so don't feel bad for venting anywhere. If you can visit the chat sometime, it's a friendly area to be in if you can bring yourself to it. I hope to hear from you sometime -
I'm exactly the same! If I get woken up though I feel anxious more. I'm sorry you deal with this too
-
Glad to see you on here Toni! I hope you come on quite often, everyone is so lovely and welcoming.

Welcome! Hope to see you around on the chat sometime!

Yeah its a matter of talking to someone through the anxiety, none of that seems to do it for me, talking to people keeps me focussed on them and what theyre doing. whereas with tv or games or anything like that im easily brought back to my issue.

I don't really have any triggers, I'm pretty much constantly anxious just sometimes less and sometimes more. Although recently I'm always highly anxious and idk why. The only way I calm is talking to people on the phone or I Skype with people, but aside from my boyfriend who I don't want to put too much pressure on to deal with my crap, I don't have anyone to call or chat to anymore, I don't really have friends or anyone to chat to anyway nevermind to help me out. My parents are great and all but I feel so disappointed when I tell them I'm having some bad anxiety day. This past week and a half I don't know what is wrong with me but it's tiring me out mentally
-
How do I deal with anxiety attacks when the only way I calm down is talking to people and I have no-one to talk to?
-
How do you deal with feeling constantly mentally exhausted?

Hi, I'm Allie and I've been agorophobic since I was 18, I'm now 24 and have missed out on a lot. I try not to focus on that but one thing I can't ignore is how lonely it is in this world. If anyone wants to talk, email whatever, feel free to get in touch.
