Drazz40 5 Posted December 7, 2020 So the last few days I been having this dull ache that comes and goes on the left side of my chest, closer to the middle.. hurts to touch but throws me into a panic. I work in a bulk sand plant and we require a yearly chest xray because of silica dangers... just had mine done in Sept and came back clear. Could it be muscle or a pinched nerve? sTeaLth 238 Posted December 7, 2020 Absolutely. Or even a rib out. Ribs and the muscles around them cause all kinds of whack stuff. That X-ray was not long ago. You are fine!
Drazz40 5 Posted December 7, 2020 Appreciate the quick reply. Its not a constant thing.. its always the damn what ifs though, especially in that area.
Drazz40 5 Posted December 10, 2020 So the pain seems to be gone in my chest.. still a bit of back pain.. but the last 2 days my stomach is in knots.. maybe from being so anxious and stressed about my chest pain that I had.. now stressed about stomach.. vicious cycle.. Drazz40 5 Posted December 23, 2020 So back pain is gone.. stomach is still messed up.. feels like acid reflux or indigestion. After eating I feel a fluttering kinda feeling in my up stomach.. does indigestion or gas cause this?
MARC 431 Posted December 23, 2020 Reflux, gas and indigestion can cause gurgling, burning and pain in your abdominal area.
Drazz40 5 Posted December 24, 2020 Like a flutter in the stomach that makes me wanna cough and constantly clear my throat.. just threw up a bit of white phlegm. Panic is in high gear right now.
jonathan123 2368 Posted December 24, 2020 Hi. Drazz. There are two main symptoms in anxiety that cause problems. Heart and stomach. Both these organs are very susceptible to stress. It's why people feel sick and have palpitations. FIGHT/FLIGHT again. Your body is responding to your thoughts. You become anxious and your brain obeys it's Master, the Mind, and senses danger. You immediately go into the fear mode. Your body prepares you to run, but you can't can you? Because there is nothing to run away from or fight! So you turn in on yourself and worry all the more. The old vicious circle. Fear/anxiety/symptoms/fear. Can you see how you become like a dog chasing its tail? I still advocate ACCEPTANCE. By accepting your symptoms you calm yourself down. I assume you have been to your GP, if not do so. You will get reassurance and some comfort from being told it's anxiety. Take it easy and take care. Drazz40 5 Posted December 26, 2020 Thanks Johnathan. I can usually get a grip on it but this physical symptom is taking a tole on me.. almost feels like I'm getting kicked in the stomach from the inside.. I dont know how to calm it down.. and it gives me a slight cough probably from my stomach being nervous. I'm stressing out over it.. my wife is getting upset with me cause I'm fixating on it. I'm in a rut. I haven't seen a GP in awhile. I had a chest xray back in September( yearly requirement for work for silica). All came back clear. AriaRen 19 Posted December 26, 2020 Hey Drazz, if it's any consolation, I have pretty bad acid reflux and I get the exact same feelings after eating, and sometimes at night in bed. Acid reflux can irritate your throat, making you cough, so maybe just double check with your GP about that if you're worried, or take a few Rennies/some gaviscon and see if it calms down itself 😁 anxiety definitely makes my acid reflux worse, I don't know if it's because it makes my stomach gurgle and the acid just doesn't appreciate it, haha, but it's one of the few things now healthwise that doesn't bother me at all, so accustom to it. Have a quick chat with the GP, and with regards to your wife, I had the same issues with my boyfriend, it's understandable that it's stressful for our partners. When you get worried, do all that you can not to Google your symptoms, it'll make them 100% times worse. Distract yourself, go and ask your wife about her day, watch some funny videos on YouTube, call a friend and distract yourself. I found when I actively tried to keep myself busy, even if I was still worried, my boyfriend appreciated the effort I was putting in, and our relationship improved tenfold. Sorry for the long reply, I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Drazz40 5 Posted December 26, 2020 Thanks I appreciate the reply. I can usually get my reflux anxiety under control but its this stupid flutter feeling that is happening alot.. if that would stop I would be fine.. but its like I'm waiting for it to happen. I was taking my pulse when it happened and its like it paused for a second when the flutter happened. I haven't been eating much.. I dont smoke but do vape. Never touched it yet today.. I checked my BP pulse and temp.. all are good. Maybe its a muscle tensed up in my stomach area I dunno.. but it freaks me out. Again thank you 😊
Drazz40 5 Posted December 28, 2020 Could it be pcvs from stress anxiety?.. I'm trying to calm down and ignore it but it's still there.. makes it hard. Might go to a walkin clinic tomorrow.
AriaRen 19 Posted December 28, 2020 Physical symptoms of anxiety can take a while to disappear, think of it like a drug - Anxiety raises all sorts of chemical levels in your body, just because you haven't taken a drug for a day doesn't mean it's out your system completely, you need to wait for it to totally be gone, and it's the exact same with anxiety. You'll get there, you need to accept it for what it is, and slowly it'll start to disappear. It's worth maybe contacting your doctor to have a talk about your anxiety surrounding it, and see what they suggest. I hope you're feeling better soon Drazz 💙
Drazz40 5 Posted December 28, 2020 Thanks again AriaRen.. I avoided the walk in clinic as I don't have my Alberta Healthcare set up yet.. moved here from Nova Scotia and didn't rush to get it set up. I don't have any pain just this butterfly flutter feeling that's driving me mad. Hoping it will go away. BP and BPM is still fine. It's been 4-5 days if it was anything serious something would of happened by now you would think. Fingers crossed.
Drazz40 5 Posted December 31, 2020 Flutter is still there throughout the day. Especially after I eat. No appetite and my anxiety is really high. My bp and bpm is still fine. I just started taking nexium. I work at a bulk plant and climbed some tanks yesterday and didn't have any issues. I just wish this would pass. It's eating up my days. KNC09 0 Posted January 25, 2021 Hi @Drazz40. It sounds like you have costrochronditis (spell check). I have it. It is usually triggered by my acid reflux. I take an anti-inflammatory
Drazz40 5 Posted January 28, 2021 Do you get like a flutter/skipped beat feeling? It's been a month now for me.. some days are worse then others. Some days it almost feels like it's there for a while.. other days not as bad. I am in the process of getting a family doctor finally after moving to a different province 6 years ago. I keep thinking heart ofcoarse but I can my everyday activities and my bp and pulse are within good limits unless I start to panic.. The neverending cycle. KNC09 0 Posted January 28, 2021 Yes I also get flutters. I know there are some stretches online you can do for it. I have days where I have no aches/pains and other days it is horrible but it doesn't interrupt my daily life. I've noticed that my anxiety makes it worse. My mother also has it. Try taking some over the counter omerazpole (spell check) and see if it helps. It may take a few days before you see a difference. I am on prescription omerazpole and it is truly helping me. You can also call a pharmacist and see what they can suggest
Kindra 87 Posted January 31, 2021 I get these same symptoms when my acid reflux is bad. I ended up needing prescription medication because pharmacy meds didn’t help at all. The flutter sensation made me cough continuously, it’s the worst. Hope your are feeling better

Hope your are feeling better Still feeling the same.. lastnight was bad panic for about 3 hours while trying to sleep.. eventually drank a chamomile tea and was finally able to sleep.. Still waiting for word on a family doctor. Tried gaviscon liquid doesn't seem to help. Not really any appetite cause I'm scared to eat.. I do eat but don't feel hungry and full very quickly.. hopefully I can get prescribed something that will end this.. if my stomach was fine my mind would be. Wasted the last month worrying.. not healthy for me or my family.. I dont want my kids seeing me like this so I tend to hide it. Fluttering is the worse. MotherOfMaya 18 Posted February 2, 2021 This all sounds so much like me when I'm not having other worries (see my post from an hour ago). On Christmas day I had this major gut punch feeling right under the center of my rib cage. It was crazy feeling and it would come and go as I moved, etc. I have been taking Pepcid every day since and that has gotten better. I do hate to diagnose myself but I do think I have a hiatal hernia going on. That would account for many of your symptoms TBH. Another thing I thought of when I read your first post was costochondritis, which is pain and inflammation in your rib cage and sternum. I had this simultaneously as the center under my ribs pain. I also get the fluttering/skipped heartbeat. This can be caused by anxiety AND hiatal hernia. It's worth talking to your doctor about to see if they recommend seeing a GI doc. Maybe the acid reflux meds you are taking aren't right for you. Hope you get it figured out!
Drazz40 5 Posted February 12, 2021 So had a few good days.
