AbeLinkedIn 41 Posted May 6, 2018 First some good news: My knee made a full recovery. Now onto the reason I made this thread. For the last couple of days my left eye has been tearing up more and the bottom of the eye socket has been slightly painful when I blink unless I press it first. I want to chalk it up to allergies but I have no idea what would be causing it. It waxes and wanes too as yesterday I had little pain but my eye kept watering. What could be wrong with me? Holls 1505 Posted May 6, 2018 To me it sounds like allergies. Tis the season for that. There's nothing wrong with you. It's very normal. It's also normal to have new allergies as you age etc
AbeLinkedIn 41 Posted May 7, 2018 My main issue is it only happened with my left eye, my right eye is perfectly fine.
Holls 1505 Posted May 7, 2018 When I have allergies I only have issues in my right eye. I think this is totally normal and nothing to worry about
Iugrad91 501 Posted May 7, 2018 When my daughter has allergies she only gets stuffy on one side of her nose/face.
enidoreilley 83 Posted May 7, 2018 It could be a few different things but I don't think it's anything really to worry about. For one thing, allergies can definitely just be on one side. Those are some of the most annoying kinds. Also, you could have an infection starting along the lines of pink eye (conjunctivitis). I get frequent conjunctivitis - typically at the end of or during colds. My doctor said it's totally normal and fine. The same virus or infection that impacts your respiratory system or head also attacks your eyes if your immune system lets it. The third thing that came to mind for me is a stye. Styes are painful, especially when pressed like when you blink. They also make your eye water. All of these things can be exacerbated by allergens which - if you live anywhere near where I do - are insanely high. Don't let yourself worry about it too much, but definitely take some OTC medications to get some relief.

bin_tenn 1252 Posted May 31, 2018 Yes, allergies. You don't have to experience the symptoms in both eyes.

Shanowl80 73 Posted September 6, 2018 My right eye is going this. It hurts to just move my eye around. The pain is in my socket.
