Nat1996 23 Posted September 26, 2019 I have been dealing with this for MONTHS now and it's still continuing to get worse. I went to the doctor many months ago with this terrible pressure under my left rib cage saying it felt swollen, like it was pressing on my lung and making it difficult to breathe which then made it difficult to deal with the anxiety it was causing. ER doc diagnosed it as gastritis and gave me a script. The pain continued and I started being able to feel it all the way down the left side of my stomach. Not so much pain as discomfort but very noticeable. I went and saw my doctor multiple times and she always gets me to lay down and feels all around and says she feels nothing and it's probably nothing to worry about. Things still have not improved. I have days where it's very painful and days where it just feels swollen but the last couple days I have been extremely bloated and feeling very nauseous and I've got myself convinced it's been some type of cancer this whole time and now I'm going to die because it's gotten so much worse and everyone says it's nothing. I can even feel my stomach just under the rib cage is harder on that side than the right and when I'm laying down I can see it protrudes more. It feels constantly bruised and if I'm slouched over for any length of time it makes it even worse. Every time I eat anything the last couple days it's caused me pain and nausea. I'm terrified thinking I'm going to drop at any moment!! Help!
Bobnnat 496 Posted September 26, 2019 Hi Nat, It sounds muscular to me. In 2012 what you describe happened to me. The whole area hurt. I couldn’t eat. Became nauseous. Docs said it’s nothing serious. Bottom line this turned out to be muscular. My anxiety and fear caused me subconsciously to tense up all day making it worse. Please don’t just dismiss this, practically all of my HA episodes over the years ended up being muscular made worse and prolonged due to the anxiety it created. id say get a massage, but if you’re still going to stress, it won’t help. You must let it go, then it will depart. You’re what, 23 years old? The type of cancers you’re worrying about are unheard of in one your age. sTeaLth 237 Posted September 26, 2019 I second what Bob said. Also, realize that doctors are very good at what they do. If they didn’t find anything then there is a GREAT chance you really don’t have anything to worry about. 😊
Ms.Honey 12 Posted September 27, 2019 I’m dealing with something that sounds similar, on my right side. I’ve been seeing an osteopath and it helps tremendously- they think it’s muscular too
MM81 5 Posted September 27, 2019 I’m also experiencing this on my right side. Happening since June. I’m going to see a sports medicine guy about it next week. It wanders between feeling like it is in my organs and then on my skin. Wanders around and drives me insane and also makes me miserable. Regular doc is not concerned, says muscular/pinched nerve. The worst pain tends to settle around a recent surgical scar. I am so ready to be done after the year of bizarro sensations I’ve had. SO DONE.
Nat1996 23 Posted September 27, 2019 Thank you so much for replying to me! Mine also goes from feeling like its inside my body to feeling like a burning sensation on my skin. I'm glad I'm not alone and I can try and calm myself a bit!
Ms.Honey 12 Posted September 28, 2019 Mine also wanders and sometimes feels deep inside and sometimes on my skin!

I am still dealing with the EXACT same thing, except for burning skin which i dont have but i also have the worse-when-slouched, sometimes deep and sometimes superficial, pressure or fullness at times vs painful other times etc. Exactly as u said it. ivyt73 11 Posted October 11, 2019 I have this too, have had it for years. It feels like a rope burn pain in my right side right next to my belly button but also somewhat in my right back. Also seems worse when sitting or slouching (my posture is bad). Just went to the ortho he said my spine is curving a little and I have some very small bone spurs. I think it is gastro though and I am going to begin a food log. I felt terrible this afternoon after eating spicy mexican food. Sorry you all are having trouble with this but it helps to know it isn't just me. Ivy

You said you wouldn't be and it was 15 months ago. Anxiety does weird things with the body, but muscles take a lot of the brunt. Were the meds the doctor prescribed provide any relief? Could you go back to the doc?

Unfortunately the meds didn't do anything for me and I'm currently without a doctor due to the shortage in my area. I've had it looked into by other random docs but all the do is press on my stomach while I'm laying down and say it doesn't seem worrisome. Hopefully once I get a new doctor I'll be able to actually get some answers.

We have products here in the States that can at least temporarily relieve your issues. Gastritis seems to be pretty common and chronic if it is not addressed. I did some searching. The goal is reduce acid production and get that stomach lining restored. Almonds (I eat these and noticed a difference in acid production). Yogurt. https://www.benenden.co.uk/be-healthy/nutrition/gut-food-15-foods-for-good-gut-health/
