Who has been affected by PTSD?
prescott911 replied to Urban Legend's topic in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
I just started a thread specifically about PTSD in the Military and a documentary that discusses its history. I think the military should have a mandatory term for "psychological debriefing" for ANY serviceman or woman who has served in a combat zone. Maybe for about 3 months they discuss and go through therapy for their experiences however severe they believe their experiences may or may not be. After that therapeutic period and during those same three months they should undergo a psychosocial reintegration program of some sort so that they can function properly in society and not wind up homeless or in any situations or dire circumstances. -
I am fortunate to say that I do not have PTSD. But I think everybody interested in psychology as well as any human being to watch "Wartorn: 1861-2010" an amazing eye-opening HBO Documentary produced and directed by James Gandolfini (best known for his acting role as Tony Soprano). As you can tell, the film chronicles the military's reaction and handling of PTSD all the way back to the American Civil War up until our current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. It chronicles the improvements made in diagnosing the disorder and pushes for much more treatment and acknowledgement within the military as well as society for the sake of veteran re-integration after combat service. I would highly recommend it to anybody on this page and website! "Wartorn: 1861-2010" Please comment with your thoughts whether you have or have not seen the documentary. Chronic nightmare sufferers....this may help :)
prescott911 replied to Twinks*'s topic in Sleep Cycles
Very good tips! Fortunately I don't have too many nightmares although I feel like I have had a slight increase both erotic dreams and nightmares in recent months and I have been able to remember my dreams with a lot more frequency as well. All I can say is keep the erotic dreams coming baby! -
i'm definitely in cluster B!

WTF! I only watched the first episode of the 3rd season! I didn't feel it was going to top Mexico/Season 2 and I am sure it didn't. I guess this is the last time I'll be in this Topic Thread until I watch the entire season! To avoid any further spoiler-potential.

Oh you must! While Dexter's Lab on Cartoon Network was amazing and entertaining especially with Dee Dee popping in to disturb her brother, the adult Showtime Dexter is actually quite similar now that I think of it... Adult Dexter has his own laboratory (for analyzing blood spatter at murder/crime scenes), he has a semi-obnoxious sister (Deb) her curses far more than Dee Dee from little Cartoon Network Dexter's sister. The first season is the best, in my opinion. That is probably because I am often attracted to plots at the beginning when things are being formulated and not fully developed. I like Batman Begins more than the Dark Knight for this same reason and many other TV and Film series.

Godiva's Vanilla Bean white chocolate bars will make your life complete. Break off a piece and let it sit in your mouth slowly melt. The smooth texture and taste will make you have a mouthgasm! -
I don't mean to be insensitive but I hope that by "cut" you mean that you decided not to go to class as I truly cannot understand why someone would physically harm them self. While I would never agree with/endorse such actions I would love to understand why. If that is what you meant of course.

My OCD ....I never knew.
prescott911 replied to Twinks*'s topic in Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
I feel like I have acute OCD, nothing too serious. My most prevalent symptom would be my desire to control what other people do. I always want people to do things my way and even if I don't say it out loud I have a boiling urge in my body raging wanting them to things more like I do. Whether it is cooking a meal in a kitchen, driving or playing a video game. I can really irritate my friends when I get like that. -
How do you know you have Bipolar disorder?
prescott911 replied to scotty's topic in Secondary Disorders
Yea, same here. The winter and gloomy days produce an anxiety and depression for me. It may also be due to the fact that my mother is bipolar and would have her most extreme bouts of the disorders and physically abuse my siblings and myself the most during the winter. I think I may just conditioned now to feel that during gloomy/overcast days and the winter. -
Favorite movie for releaving stress?
prescott911 replied to Urban Legend's topic in Entertainment World
Any feel-good comedy is great for setting me at peace. The best general comedy that I have seen recently would have to be Horrible Bosses. I would recommend that you watch the entire Arrested Development series if you are looking to laugh it up and feel at peace afterwards. -
Just finished reading "KH601" by Richard G. Irwin it is a book about a CIA agent's time and career in the agency. In all his many domestic and foreign posts. The author is also my elementary school friend's father I am currently reading "The E-Myth: Revisited" a book about misconceptions and philosophical lessons about being/becoming an entrepreneur and business owner. It is very interesting and has many parallel concepts that can be applied in various other aspects of life.

My Dad keeps telling me that I have been spending too much money at the grocery store and that I need to incorporate a few more inexpensive easy homemade meals into what I purchase. I am somewhat picky and cannot stand cheese! Preferably high in protein because I am trying to gain muscle. Here are some dishes I enjoy making Bolognese Sauce Bruschetta Bianca (Bruschetta with just Olive Oil, Garlic and Salt) Bruschetta Bianca with grilled Eggplant Grilled eggplant Tacos/Burritos Grilled Salmon Grilled Steak Rosemary-Garlic Roasted Potatoes Arrabiata sauce Grilled Chicken Beef tomato stew and more
