Most Relaxing Tune Ever?

Recommended Posts

I just read about this song in a special edition of Time Magazine the other day about Inventors of the Year!? Anyway, supposedly it reduces stress and relaxes you. Can't say if its the truth or not, but here's links to the music and some articles:

Marconi Union - Weightless - Youtube

Marconi Union - Weightless - Wikipedia

Telegraph - Band creates the 'most relaxing tune ever'

You can also find the MP3 by doing a Google search, though its not guaranteed to be available forever.

Hmm.. I guess this coulda been posted in one of the other sections (youtube, coping..). Just thought it was interesting that this has made Time magazine and other news.

cheers

I have always found the song Summer Breeze by Seals and Crofts to be completely relaxing. Not only is the song itself about relaxation, it evokes memories the very early days of my childhood. I sigh every time I hear it come on (the oldies station, LOL).

Recently I have found that Lana Del Rey is very put very relaxing instrumentals on her song which I really love. The only downfall is that her lyrics are very depressing along with the tone of her voice. I think she is probably for me at the momment the best thing to listen to when I wasn't to relax. I think her best song would be Blue Jeans.

One tune that is very relaxing and has a great message for those going through stress or depresion is Breathe by Telepopmusik. Puts me in a better mood everytime.

I love Albatross by fleetwood Mac, if I close my eyes and listen to it I can just imagine I'm on a lovely warm beach :) I also like lana Del Ray, I heard here for the first time earlier this week.

I believe there are common elements on this songs that makes them relaxing. If I'm not mistaken, they are called binaural beats and isochronic tones. They tend to ease some tension inside the brain and could give you these relaxing and somewhat hypnotic feel.

Music is a useful tool for lifting your mood. If you listen to depressing music, it will likely make you feel more depressed. Conversely, if you listen to cheerful music, you will likely feel more positive and optimistic. I like listening to music like this to lift my mood http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ic2bua-JCU4

The title says it all :)

I love Vangelis, the whole "Oceanic" albu and "Portraits". And I've found recently Ennio Morricone "Chi Mai" - I adore it!
