MsLLL 413 Posted March 23, 2017 Thank you so much! I hope this will pass soon, it just takes patience. I've made a bone broth from scratch yesterday and I will drink that throughout the day. Actually the baby aspirin did help me, no headache right now. Maybe it would have passed without the aspirin too. My family has the privilege to shop in US stores over here, so I do have the 325 mg Aspirin in the house but I was worried it would be too much since my noose is bleeding from the sneezing. If the headache wouldn't have subsided I would have taken more 82 mg until it would have done the trick. I do take Vitamin D3 daily, since my levels were really low 2 years ago, not realizing what kind of health consequences it could have. I have a few boxes for charity sitting in my living room. Need to sort through them so the goodies can be distributed to people who need it. And someone volunteered me to cook a pretty big dinner for another local charity event. Wish me luck since I really don't feel good right now. But it's not until tomorrow so hopefully things will be better. Good that you will TRY to go about your day and activities, very glad to hear it! An acre of land to take care of and a total of 100 trees? I do applaud Jim for taking care of all that, next to all his other responsibilities! He does sound a solid guy with strong work ethics, you are very lucky to have met him!
Ihadcancer 321 Posted March 23, 2017 He is awesome and has so many hobbies! I am blessed. Glad you're a bit better. My youngest is home today. He's doing his laundry. Since Jim has a track meet on Saturday and we have an extra thing at church on Sunday, I think we'll take our trash to the dump so Jim doesn't have to make time late Friday or late Saturday. It's about 4 miles from here, tops, and it's free. Going to get started on my list! I'll let you know how it goes! Feel better soon! Diane

MsLLL 413 Posted March 23, 2017 Not feeling so good. Throat is hurting and temperature is up. Chopped some carrots, leeks, potatoes to blend in with the broth, since I've realized I need something more substantial. Did manage to run errands with the car and it was fine. Had a friend stop by. Did some laundry and made my bed. I had to think about you when I watched the morning news; According to the Wall Street Journal highly successful people make their bed everyday! Your are on the road to success dear Diane! Will make a tea now and can't wait to take a bath later and turn in early tonight with a good -old, classic love movie
Ihadcancer 321 Posted March 23, 2017 Gosh I'm sorry you're feeling worse. Hope it's just a common cold and not something like strep! Anytime I make a list of what I've accomplished, I do MORE than I would have otherwise. Sometimes I even put down how long it took for each chore but today I didn't. Hope you get to bed early, sleep really well and wake feeling much much much better. Diane
MsLLL 413 Posted March 24, 2017 Thank you, Diane. I went to the doctor this morning to make sure it's not strep. He said it looks like it could develop into that, we will have to see. Gotta start cooking that dinner now, don't really feel like it but got to pull myself together to do it. I will wear plastic gloves and a scarf around my mouth, and my hair in a bun. Just making sure no one gets this nasty cold. Hope your day goes well.
Ihadcancer 321 Posted March 24, 2017 Did he not do a rapid strep test? If you start to feel worse, go back and have a strep test. I got up, showered and dressed, fed the animals and went to the gym. Then I had an errand to do for my husband in a town about 25 miles away so 50 miles round trip. I just got home and had my oatmeal. Now to do some chores! Hope you feel better soon and I really hope it isn't strep. That can make you feel SO bad! Diane
MsLLL 413 Posted March 24, 2017 No, I didn't! I couldn't go see my US MD because he is too far and I didn't feel good enough for the drive. So I went to a local doctor. I told him I have a history of strep throat... He just looked in my throat and said there is a small pus pocket on one of my tonsils. He proceeded to touch my swollen lymph nodes on my throat/neck.... I wanted to kick him in the shin! Anyway, if not better by next week, I will arrange for someone to bring me to my doctor. I've managed the dinner! Since I don't have taste I was worried it wouldn't turn out but the person picking everything up, tasted it and said it was great. Now I gotta clean up. MsLLL 413 Posted March 28, 2017 Ok. where are we on this thread? First off, I hope everything will work out with your husband's job! I'm not sure I understood all the details of what has unfolded but I hope it comes down to a technical error and it can be fixed! It's never good when we have to worry about jobs and money. I have not done too much in the past days cause I still have that nasty cold. My throat doesn't hurt as much but I have a pretty bad cough now. No more fever! I've slept much longer than I usually do but I think it's part of what my body needs now. My yard is a mess because I couldn't do much but did manage to start growing mint for tea, and some kitchen herbs. But still lots to do. I did the usual things in the house, cleaned the master bathroom, made my bed:), did laundry, dusted, organized, vacuum-cleaned. I go to bed early and watch movies or read a lot. It's hard to fall asleep because I'm not as tired as I usually am because I'm taking it slow. I didn't have to cook because some of my friends brought food over for me, which was nice. Managed to do some light work-outs with small weights but of course no gym right now. My best friend told me something that was really unexpected and that has been on my mind a lot. Hoping to hear your day is going well Diane!
Ihadcancer 321 Posted April 2, 2017 Well I'm in shambles and haven't done anything but made the bed, fed the dogs and did dishes in days. First, the CT scan was quick and easy. My doctor didn't release the copy tho and when he did, there was an area of concern in my lungs that is usually caused by infection or inflammation. I Googled and the infections can be horrible. Shouldn't have done that! Then, my oncologist never posted by CBC so I can't see that to see if I have an infection. Hubby is very sick with bronchitis so yesterday he had to go to the walk in clinic and since I still have a scratchy throat and some ear pain, he suggested I take my copy of my ct scan and see the doctor at the same time. We went to one in another town since the one in our town had 2 doctors but they were overflowing and not accepting more patients that day. We saw a HORRIBLE woman! I started off by explaining about my health anxiety in only a few words and then she barely glance at my throat. It was so quick that I asked her to look again because my right tonsil hurts if I swallow food on that side. Both ears are full of fluid but it's clear so no infection. That's what's causing the pain. She got VERY upset when I asked her if she could talk to me about the possible infections that might cause a cluster of tiny nodules in the lung. She almost threw the paper in my lap and then ranted about how we shouldn't be there. We should be at our primary care! (Saturday late afternoon). Then she looks at Jim and dx's bad bronchitis and put him on Prednisone and Doxycycline. She wanted to know who he sees for his COPD and he told her a lady doctor at Emory and she demanded to know why he hadn't gone there. Uh... the woman has two offices and is only in those offices on a rotating basis 4 days a week. That does NOT include Friday or Saturday. I managed to eat 1/2 of a turkey burger and a few pork and beans yesterday. The day before I ate a portion of a BBQ pulled pork sandwich. When I'm nervous, food turns my stomach. I looked up the radiologist who read my report and tried to call the group he supposedly works for and ask for an email contact. The answering service contacted the Dr. on call who said no one by that name has ever worked with them. I looked on Facebook and found him so just sent a message saying 'Are you a radiologist at xyz?' He responded by adding me as a friend and said he remembered my name and CT scan and knew what I was concerned about but not to worry. He said he remembers thinking this cluster looked like infection, but if I'd give him my cell number, he'll call me when he gets to work on Monday and pull up the pictures on the big screen to explain this to me. He did say 'of course, nothing is 100%' but again, try not to worry. I'm worrying tho........... The type infections are things like from the soil, from bird droppings, fungus, TB, a deadly disease, Sarcoidosis, pneumonia........ and something called a septic embolism which is a clot of pus instead of blood and if it bursts, can kill you like a blood clot. This is why we shouldn't Google except, I have no real symptoms of a septic embolism and the description of those includes stuff not seen and they're located in different areas. Google helped with that a bit. I asked them to put my gym membership on hold until I get the all clear. They had no problem with that. Why pay monthly for something I won't use until I find out what this is, right? Ugh................
MsLLL 413 Posted April 4, 2017 Hi Diane, yes, you are under a lot of stress, too much stress with everything you have been through already and now this new worry. I wish I could make your burden lighter somehow. I did say a long prayer for you the other day. It sounds like a horrible experience with that female doctor. Maybe she was just stressed out but if this is her everyday demeanor she shouldn't be a doctor. So good to hear you've tracked down the 'important' doctor on FB. One thing is clear about you, when you are on a mission you are on a mission and you don't give up! I applaud you! Now if we could take that energy and determination to address our Anxiety/PTSD/whatever- we -suffer from, we all would be 'cured'! Wouldn't that be wonderful? I know you don't need my advice but if I was you I wouldn't worry about household chores right now. So what if you can't do much right now? How would you be able to----no way! I think the most important thing is that you eat, drink, sleep somehow and spend time with your loved ones! Do things that take your mind off this new concern if possible, it's so hard to do, I know. But soon you will have answers and you will be able to address things as they come! You have the strength inside you, whatever is lacking right now will be given to you by your relationship with God and your family! My very best wishes for you! And I'm happy to say a prayer for you anytime you need it
Ihadcancer 321 Posted April 5, 2017 Hi MissLLL! I thought I'd updated. Must have put it elsewhere. The radiologist called me early Tuesday morning. They'd had a lot of accidents due to the tornado and storms so he was super busy on Monday. He told me the little cysts that are clustered are very common in infections or if the lungs are inflamed / irritated and 'tho nothing in medicine is 100%, I am MORE than 90% sure this has nothing to do with your previous cancer. Anyhow, it's been 5 years since your liver resection so we wouldn't expect to find cancer this far out'. He said a lot more but basically said I should be on an antibiotic and then have another CT scan a month after I finish that to make sure it's cleared up. I called my oncologist and his nurses finally got me 7 days of Keflex. I see the onc next Tuesday and will ask for a repeat CT scan one month from that day. I did a bunch of reading and everything says 'clusters of small nodules' are benign and one big group that makes recommendations to radiologists world wide doesn't even suggest they be re scanned! Hubby is home this week for spring break. He's very sick and again, today, we have huge storms and tornadoes. We had several things planned to get done but even painting a table is out! It would never dry with 100% humidity. At least I have someone to talk to! Diane
MsLLL 413 Posted April 5, 2017 Wonderful, Diane! I'm so very happy for you, big cyber hugs! This is how it should be! Enjoy spending time with your husband, I hope he gets to feel better real soon. I miss those storms! Not necessarily the tornadoes but a good ole thunderstorm like they only happen in the States
