Ihadcancer 321 Posted March 16, 2017 I wrote this whole reply about cleaning a corner in the kitchen that I cannot reach and the two window sills, etc. and it disappeared. I'm having real problems replying because my adobe flash is blocked on every page ONLY on this forum. I can't fix it. So here's the window area I cannot reach to clean. Even with a ladder.
Ihadcancer 321 Posted March 16, 2017 I did it! I climbed up and got all but a teeny spot on top of the fridge and I used a ruler inside my dust rag to get that to some degree. I went to Wal-Mart and got a large black towel for $3.50! It's virtually invisible on the fridge but covers the whole top and will make it easier to keep clean. I also got one floor cleaned and then went to Zaxby's and got myself a Cobb Salad (no dried onions) for supper. Healthy and yummy. I brought it home because I feel weird eating alone in public. I don't think I've ever done it. In FACT, two nights, 5 years ago, were the fist time I'd EVER spent time alone over night in my whole life. The kitchen is cleaned and my clothes are out for gym class. I have an emerald green top with bits of gray and a golden undershirt to wear with dark gray aerobic tights. They match better than they sound. I'm an emerald freak so have four emerald rings. Three are from estate sales and one is my engagement ring (remade for our 25th wedding anniversary from a solitaire diamond to two small emeralds on either side) and lovely emerald earrings (two pair to choose from) that were also estate jewelry. I'll look more Irish that I really am. The dogs are fed and running around out back. It got up to mid 50's° late afternoon and they're enjoying the warmth. Going to be very pretty tomorrow. So, I accomplished more than I expected today tho still much less than I would have a few years ago. Not going to be worrying about the cysto hurting or the CT scan and blood work. Cancer may kill me, but NOT TODAY! Diane
MsLLL 413 Posted March 17, 2017 Good job Diane! You did something and had thought you couldn't! And you felt bad for not having your old super powers! (Sounds familiar). Hope you have fun at the gym decked out in your St.Patricks day gear! I wonder if you've opted to wear all four emerald rings to give those older ladies at your gym a shock to their system...(Remember, 'you don't have to dress up to work out'? That was so funny how you handled that one!! I had my appointment and I've dreaded it. I had two choices, managing as best I as could, or putting the cards on the table. I've opted for the later one. The appointment was with an agency who will pair you up with a job in your career field. On the way there, which was far, I decided to just get the feel for the situation once i"m there. And I told the guy about my anxiety and medication and how it has impacted my life in the past two years. He was very nice and understanding, and said one of his friends has it to! He did make several good suggestions on how to deal with it when a good job offer will come up. So I was relieved and happy after leaving there. It's awesome people like that exist. He could have easily discouraged me and all that. When I got home I got some bad news, there is always the good, the bad and the in between, isn't there? But I worked out a plan on how to deal with that too. Now I should clean and sear a beef chuck, to throw it in the crock pot for tomorrow but I'm pretty tired from the events of the day. I saw on the news a few minutes ago how cold it is in Georgia now and that some of the crop froze. Brrrrrrr!
Ihadcancer 321 Posted March 17, 2017 I always wear all four rings and my wedding band. I also wore the larger earrings that are a semi circle with 10 emeralds each! Most of the class wore funny St. Patrick's Day stuff like silly t shirts and big fake jewelry. LOL The gym was just okay. We have too many attending now and I got there 35 minutes early but the late comers pushed their way in and I got a seat, but some people had to leave. They want us to come at 8 a.m. and I just cannot do that. I also felt winded a couple of times today after not going as much (doctor appointment/ tests) and we couldn't do a lot of our usual exercises because the room was too full. So, I can only do one class a day, 3 days a week and that's if I get there early enough to sign in (new rule) and stand by the door to fight for a seat. Most people go for free. I have to pay for a gym membership to attend because we have private insurance instead of Medicare. It was a bummer. I made all these plans for today because the weatherman had said it was going to be very warm and pretty. Instead it's cold and gray. I woke at 5:30 with a very bad sinus headache and vertigo. I got up and took Sudaphed and went back to bed until 7:00. Made my bed, took my shower and dressed, fed the animals, loaded the dishes that appeared overnight and rushed to the gym. I'd really wanted to be OUTSIDE! In the SUN! Now they say no sun until Sunday and not warm until mid next week. Shucks! I had gotten out the equipment to clean off the deck and wash the patio furniture, pick up limbs, gotten out pots and potting soil to go get some plants. Glad you had a good appointment but so sorry you got bad news! Hope it wasn't something really bad! I'm making BBQ chicken for tonight, I think. Everyone will be home for supper as it stands right now. I didn't eat breakfast before gym so I'm going to have my oatmeal for lunch and drink my glass of grape juice. Working on that cholesterol! I think it's around suppertime for most of our members. *** UPDATE! The sun came out around 3 p.m. and it's 67°! Diane
MsLLL 413 Posted March 17, 2017 Hi! I'm very happy to hear the sun came out! We are having a storm coming through and the temperatures will drop tonight. You started in your yard too! I dragged everything out but should probably move it back in until the weather gets better. Thanks for your concern, is was not really bad news, just unexpected but I already took steps to take care of it. I really wanted to work out today but my right leg is really hurting for some reason. I don't remember having pain like that in one leg. Maybe I slept wrong or did too many squats. I will rest until it's better or maybe just do some light upper body work tomorrow. I will see how it feels tomorrow. It sure sounds like things at your gym have changed---bummer! You sound so motivated to keep going, I hope the situation will improve somehow. Managed to do my roast, it will be in the crock pot over night. Good you are working on the cholesterol. I have a friend who is pretty young but has to take medication for it. He works out 7 days a week(!), is not overweight, eats no junk food and still has it. I think in his case it is hereditary. Oh, and he is not under a lot of stress, I think he said a Dr. told him stress can affect that too.
Ihadcancer 321 Posted March 18, 2017 It rained last night and my dogs got up 3 times, so I lay in bed until 8 today. Hubby had made coffee for me, which was so nice. I stripped the bed and have clean sheets that hubby will help me put on before bed tonight. I haven't done much at all today. Hubby watched some college baseball and then I watched some 'Flea Market Flip' episodes I've recorded. It feels like it should be a lot later than it is! My father's wife sent an upsetting email but that's how she is. She wrote to ask about the test I had. I'd posted the good report online and she claims to have never seen it and was worried because 'ever (sic) body we know had there (sic) cancer come back and the woman I take care of has it back 4 times in 10 years'. I held my nose, wrote and apologized that she had missed the update and explained that I have more tests in the next two weeks but everything so far has been great. Then I checked to see if I'd included them in the email showing the exact dates, and I had. I let it upset me for about 2 minutes and then decided it was not a 'jinx' just Agnes being Agnes. Tomorrow is extra busy. First church and we're gone from about 8:20 to 12:20. At 3:30 we have to be in the larger town near us with both dogs. One is only getting her nails cut but the other is due for her bi yearly exam and her vaccines. My husband has to go with me because the older/ bigger dog will not go down the stairs, get in the car, get out of the car without being lifted. She's 60 lbs of sheer muscle. I have to medicate the younger dog or she'll be car sick coming and going. So, at 5:00, hubby has to be in that big town for a multi church choir practice to sing with a guy who is coming to perform March 27th. We'll take two vehicles so I can come home. By then my son should be home and he can get the big 3 year old cry baby dog back upstairs for me! LOL I'm not sure what time Jim will get home. We'll eat something like soup and sandwiches since we may end up eating at different time and then I'll watch The Walking Dead before sleep. Love that show. So, today has been icky, chilly and lazy for me but it's been nice having someone else in the house! Diane
Ihadcancer 321 Posted March 18, 2017 UPDATE! Jim cleaned the window sills and I cleaned all my collectibles and put the new red rag rug in the corner by those windows. I also cleaned the front of the microwave and dishwasher while I was scrubbing the counter tops. So, I did accomplish something today! Diane

Ihadcancer 321 Posted March 19, 2017 11 hours ago, MissLiveLaughLove said: I'm behind reading your wonderful posts and responding. I will tonight No rush! All I accomplished today was 4 hours at church with the most amazing 15 kids in Sunday School and then got the two dogs to the vet and home. I didn't even have time to make my bed before church. It was a good day, tho! Quote What a spectacular group of children we had today. We started a coloring while waiting for the group to arrive and before big group and one child had the idea of cutting out the design but he was not good at cutting. I showed him how to take a cheap, fluted paper plate and practice cutting each line. Then I told him how he could curl the sides up, make it a flower...... and the kids all wanted plates, colored their pictures, cut them out, glued them on, curled up the sides and made these amazing creations! One suggested to one, etc., and they all worked together. Afterwards we went over our story and they asked if they could play 'Hangman' by Milton Bradley ($7.99 at ToysRUs). I had one game for 15 children and they divided into 2 groups and chose words, took turns and played beautifully together! On an educational game! Now get this, the words they came up with were words like 'waterfalls'! Two children brought a guest and one child came who hasn't been in 2 years! It was a good day in the house of the LORD and I love our class so much!
MsLLL 413 Posted March 20, 2017 Dear Diane! Your weekend sounds wonderful! How well you took care of the group of children in your church! You give and receive so much in return---that's what life is about... I believe kids love learning and growing if fostered by the right person, no pressure, just playful activity and deep care that comes from a place of love and compassion. My weekend was pretty great too. I didn't make it to the church service, told my friend the night prior that my leg was hurting too much. It has since subsided and I will go with her another time. The roast turned out great because I didn't take any short-cuts this time. Yesterday I went to my nephews birthday party, it was so much fun. I gave him a football for his birthday and him and all the other kids spent hours in the yard playing. When it turned dark they came inside to play video games. My almost two year old godchild was there too, and I got spoiled with smiles, kisses and sticky fingers holding my face. It was wonderful. I remember when anxiety made me not capable of picking him up cause I was so unsteady on my legs that I was afraid to drop him. And I was worried I would lose that special relationship with him. Yesterday really reassured me! The grown ups sat around a large table and feasted on different foods and some had a little alcohol (not me because I don't drink alcohol). We had a good conversation about religion, politics and things like that. It was really, really nice. My best friend told me he misses me. He recently started seeing a girl and I figured I let him enjoy himself and we talk every once in a while. But we are both having a hard time with this because we are used to talking all the time, and we always try to be there for each other through life's challenges. The girl told him she doesn't like that he communicates with me and I understand that. But he told her he cannot lose friends over a new relationship. The best part of our friendship is, that we truly want each other to be happy and we egg each other on to be the best version we can be. The very best news: Our family friend who is still in the hospital had her first meal! Mashed potatoes and a slice of white bread and it went fine! And here comes the very best news!!! It's not cancer! Yeah, happy dance! If the nausea subsides and she can tolerate the solid foods she can go home next week! I'm so relieved and happy for her and her family! I've made her a flower bouquet yesterday and will upload a picture here on AC. I did send a PM to a member on here who is going through a rough patch, telling him I will say a prayer for him and he's in my thoughts. Today is the birthday of my other best friend, she lives on the east coast and I miss her (but I see her every year).
Ihadcancer 321 Posted March 20, 2017 Sounds like you had an awesome weekend! Family and friends can be so helpful, can't they? I can't wait to see the photo! Just home from the gym. I went to the 9 a.m. class so am having my oatmeal and grape juice now. I just can't do strenuous exercise after eating a heavy food like oatmeal or grits! Diane
MsLLL 413 Posted March 20, 2017 Yes, it was wonderful. Today I ran some errands and I got anxious at the store. Not sure why because the last time I was there it was fine. I breathed through it, allowed for it and was scared. But reassured myself it won't get worse and if it does for some reason I will go through it and make it. That seemed to help but I was still uncomfortable. A cashier who likes me started talking to me, that somehow always does the trick, it makes me snap out of it. I bought a book at the store because the title spoke to me:'The gifts of imperfection'-Let go of who you think you're supposed to be and embrace who you are. I did manage to finish all my errands. Went to two stores and got gas. Now I'm washing all my bed stuff. I hear you on the heavy food, it's so hard to move after having a heavy meal. I don't eat breakfast but I know it'd be better to do it.
MsLLL 413 Posted March 20, 2017 I've uploaded the picture as my profile pic. The flowers in the white dish are the ones for our friend. (P.S.: I've tried so many times to resize a picture of myself hugging my anxiety pillow but can't get it to work. I have to ask a friend.)
Ihadcancer 321 Posted March 20, 2017 The flowers are BEAUTIFUL! I keep getting errors saying I'm making photos too large but if I have them on Facebook and insert them as a URL, they go in just fine. I'm having some anxiety today. I posted a thread about a lip spasm during my nap. Whole upper lip. Happened a year or so ago and I'd mentioned it on AZ. It just stopped, but I might have changed night guards. I don't remember. I think it could be that on those occasions, I've slept with my hand or something pushing against my mouth. It only happens during a nap, not during the night. This is gross, but when drifting off to sleep for my nap, I notice a tickle from drooling and will push my pillow case up against the side of my mouth. I know it's nothing serious because symptoms don't go away for a year and only happen a few times. It stops the very minute I wake but I swear I can HEAR the buzz! I'm anxious about the cystoscopy so posted a question about that in the women's forum. The doctor didn't answer when I asked if it hurt. He answered me with a question. 'Have you ever been catherized?' I answered yes but my husband reminded me that those times were for surgery and I was already knocked out when they were put in.
MsLLL 413 Posted March 20, 2017 Hi Diane! Sorry you are having anxiety---hugs to you! I did read the post about the lip spasm, I don't have any experience with that. Just a random thought, not sure if this helps, maybe keep ice cubes in a cup by your bed or frozen peas on a kitchen towel. When you wake up ice it down just to see if that could help somehow (I really don't know why I think this could help?!). And it's not gross, we all drool from time to time! I never had a cystoscopy, I will go google it and be right back. Ok, now I realize what it is, two of my friends had that procedure done. I will ask both of them if it was painful and post it tomorrow. And yes, your husband is so right! You were already knocked out when you had the catheter. But I know one of my friends had this done very recently and she didn't mention much about it being painful, she was more intrigued by the fact that the Urologist was dressed from head to toe in protective gear of some sort. I think she said black rubber and it looked kind of strange to her. I will ask and post everything I can find out.
Ihadcancer 321 Posted March 21, 2017 Black Rubber! Thanks for the heads up on that! LOL. My doc is a cute guy who wears pink checked shirts and polka dot bow ties. I can see him in black rubber, afraid he'll get urine on his clothes. LOL I was very anxious this morning and other than making the bed, got nothing done. I ended up taking my anxiety med 1 hour early and trying to nap. It relaxed me alright, but my lips were flapping like an old man or a horse and startled me awake. I sleep well at night but my husband snores like a freight train so I couldn't hear myself if I wanted to!
MsLLL 413 Posted March 21, 2017 Well, let's hope your doctor is all decked out in cute pink gear, love the polka dot bow ties! It's ok not to get much done, they will be other days again! I feel a cold coming on, haven't had one in years. Will turn in for tonight and read. Best Wishes for tomorrow, it will be alright!
Ihadcancer 321 Posted March 21, 2017 Good night my sweet friend! I have to be at the hospital at 7:30 EDT and my procedure is at 8:30. I'll post as soon as I get home. I think I'm 6 hours behind you. It's not quite 6 p.m. here. Hope you feel much better by morning! Diane

Ihadcancer 321 Posted March 22, 2017 I took a LONG nap today after lunch. I'm happy to say I was nervous but able to keep my blood pressure normal while waiting today. The doctor had told them I had anxiety so to do everything quickly. I arrived and they took me back 45 minutes early. The nurse explained everything that would happen, step by step. The insertion of the lidocaine didn't hurt at all, and when he went to insert the little probe, he told me 'Now this is going to pinch but only for a moment and then it'll feel like a little pressure.' He was pretty funny because he'd already told me all the good stuff and then he was standing up by my elbow and said 'Now this is the worst part of all........ I'm finished!' The RN helped me quickly get to the bathroom and go and then brought me my clothes. He gave me an antibiotic for 3 days. He said 'I know you tend to worry so I'm going to go ahead and give you this so you won't have to worry if the discomfort is an infection'. Then he said I could take the otc urinary pain pills for 2 days and no restrictions. He is the sweetest fella. No black rubber gown. I told him about your friend's doctor. He laughed and said he wore surgical scrubs and didn't have to worry about someone peeing on his clothes. Thank you again, MissLLL, for asking your friends and calming my nerves. You're a real peach! MsLLL 413 Posted March 23, 2017 Hi Diane, i'm very glad everything went so smoothly! Wonderful with the blood pressure, how does one keep the blood pressure down when at the doctor's office, I wonder? I have not managed to do that. My leg is still painful, on top of that I have come down with a cold. I got up at 6:00 am this morning because my head was pounding. I took a baby-aspirin and laid back down. Everyone around me had a cold, I guess now it's my turn. I will take it really slow today.
Ihadcancer 321 Posted March 23, 2017 Gosh I'm sorry you're sick! We're thankful we're okay! I saw on Facebook that four kids from our class have either the flu (tested positive) or strep. I'm sure there are more, just one mom posted and her friends jumped in with remarks. They all were very sick by Tuesday. We had so many kids but a huge room so hopefully everyone doesn't get sick. Jim and I both got flu shots and have had all our pneumonia shots. We keep full strength aspirin in the house. A baby aspirin wouldn't touch a headache or aches and pain but if I read correctly, many countries don't sell 325 mg on the shelf like they do here. I take it every day because it's a cancer preventative and also prevents colon polyps. That and Vitamin D3! It dropped 20 degrees from Tuesday to Wednesday and 20 degrees from Wednesday to today! Jim has track practice AND an away meet on Saturday. I'm going to have my coffee and TRY to accomplish something today and start with something I don't want to do. I'm going to make a list of everything I do and how long I spent doing it. So far I've made the bed and fed the animals. I only had one bowl and a spoon to put in the dishwasher. My hubby has Spring Break from April 1 - April 9th. He already has some plans to clean up the yard of all the winter debris. We have almost an acre and if you count the small trees, a total of about 100! He's a hard, hard worker for a guy about to turn 70!
