THE OPPORTUNITY PRESENTED ITSELF....BUT

Recommended Posts

i didn't have an anxiety attack... okay so for most of us on this forum, what is that one thing that always kinda of stays dormant in the back of our mind to trigger another anxiety attack especially when things are calm or going well.... FEAR !!!

so i got a called from daughter's school. apparently she an another boy in gym class, had collieded into each other and bashed heads... my daughter took the brunt of it. she is a tiny little thing to begin with. My hubby finally got a hold of me and told me what happend....NOW normally in the past i would of probably had a meltdown right there at my desk, i could feel the anxiety builiding especially when he told me that she was dizzy, nauseous and feeling lightheaded,  and they wanted to keep her awake, in case it was a concussion... i somehow managed to stay calm, pass of whatever work  i could not get done to my co-workers

on the way home driving on the highway i practiced self-talk. i told myself she is in a safe place, worse case if she does black out, they can call an ambulance and take her to the hospital. i am happy to report i made it to the school in one piece and calmly went to see her in the sick room.

she is home now after trip to the doctor with a mild concussion but she will be okay..... but it just made me feel proud of myself, if you had asked me a year... if i could done all this calmly the answer would of been NO.

just wanted to share my little success story and give hope to others out there, whether its anxiety, depression, agrophobia.

Good job amber!!!! those situations can be scary. My son fell once on playground and hit his head.. we had to take him to childrens hospital to get checked out I was a nervous wreck and thankfully same he had a mild concussion and was fine. Proud of you for handling it so well.. Its tough being a parent sometimes.

Hi. Amber.WOW!! Now that's what I said in another post. We underplay our achievements. When we succeed as you have we think, oh well, that was OK. Now you HAVE recognised how well you did so give yourself a big pat on the back. We MUST give ourselves credit for what we do. Be proud that you are beginning to beat anxiety. To even begin to understand is an achievement in itself. But "the first step is the last step". Once you get the knack of seeing 'IT' for what it is, an illusion, you have arrived. Well done Amber!      Jon.

Many congrats to you Amber,  anxiety looses it's grip just that little bit with every one of these wins.   Great to see the progress you have made :)
