SEA81 2 Posted May 13, 2012 I'm not sure if this will be helpful at all, but I've found that a lot of times when I think I'm having chest pains, it's just gas! For the longest time, I thought I was having some sort of heart attack or episode, but I finally started really listening to my body. A lot of my chest pains can be associated with gas, needing to go to the bathroom, etc. So... if you suffer from non-stop chest pains (and you're sure it's not a heart or other major health issue), try taking a Gas-X or going to the bathroom. It could help!
Gilly 1086 Posted May 14, 2012 Yes I agree, for me its always gas/acid/gastric pain. But boy does it hurt and yes, how many times did I think uh oh in the beginning? Enough to get me to the doctor, and for me that's pretty bad. It is always better to be safe than sorry, if the pain is searing, crushing, you struggle to breath always call for help. But so many times I've heard stories and its been indigestion.
JOYCICLE 654 Posted May 14, 2012 Totally SEA ! Before I knew it was gas, it scared me to death almost daily. Now when I get the tightness in my chest, I assume its' gas first and generally a big ole forced BURP relieves it all ! Stupid panic gut !
shaun 6 Posted May 14, 2012 I've experienced this a few times. Chest pains and stomach cramps for hours, then later I realise it was pent up gas. However, you should be wary of chest pains, especially if you have a family history of heart problems. Getting your heart checked out will put your mind at ease. kinser 3 Posted May 14, 2012 I have never experience pain in my chest from gas or indigestion - just from my stomach area on down. I think I'd be pretty alarmed if I had that kind of pain in the chest area!
Tecca_Nina 3 Posted May 14, 2012 I have had pain in my chest a few times because of this, I just try to do this half burp type of thing and it goes away. it is awfully painful though, it'd be easy to mistake it for something else.
Mrs. Rogers 2 Posted May 15, 2012 This is something that I had a lot of problems with as well. Honestly I thought that it was from the heart problems that I was having but I guess it's just normal gas.
kingusama92 0 Posted May 26, 2012 Yes, I tend to have those cramps in the stomach area, as well. At first, I thought there was something wrong, but in the end you realize that it is just gas. I tend to drink some Sprite or 7up in order to release some of that gas. Works for me!
SarahLizzie 2 Posted May 27, 2012 Gas can cause several different kinds of pain. The chest pains it can cause can be quite scary I agree. For me, it is difficult sometimes, because I do have heart problems, so I can not always tell the difference between the two pains. Great suggestions to try Gas-X or using the bathroom when you have chest pain. I have found I will also get awful pains in my sides too when I have gas. Indigestion can also cause chest pains, so I always both Gas-X and Tums in the house. You never know when you will need one of them!
