Usual from the usual - twitching

Recommended Posts

Hey all, me, again, for the millionth time.

I'm actually feeling good recently, which is the annoying part, but my twitches are manifesting in my lip/eye area now, it's like they've worked their way up my body?? I still get them occasionally in my legs/upper arms too, not as much as I used to, but still multiple times a day. I know lip/eye twitching is super normal when tired/stressed, but I genuinely feel the least stressed I have in ages, and I'm just concerned that maybe the twitches aren't actually stopping, I'm just used to them so have stopped noticing as much, and they're actually spreading. Idk, silly, but every so often that big scary voice comes into my head and tells me it's the worst case scenario (that disease I'm scared of 🙃).

Not sure what I'm looking for here really, more just needing to vent, I keep putting off getting a therapist again but I think I really really need to, but then I always worry that I'm putting off getting a Dr to diagnose something. Honestly, just fed up.

Still having the facial twitching, and my left leg has really ramped it up too. I'm so so terrified again, I hate this.

Try hydrating.  Muscle twitches can be from dehydration.

Have you been to a physician about your symptoms and concerns?

I've been quite a few times, but they always say my reflexes and strength are okay, so it's nothing to worry about 🤷 but there doesn't seem to be a cause. I had loads of blood tests too, but nothing major came up

I have an eye disease which is monitored by a retina specialist every six months. They can't tell me when if ever it will worsen. I live with it and try not to think about it. For your own good and peace of mind you need to move on or your fear will ruin your young life.i would seek out a  mental health professional.

I am not trying to give you a hard time. My thoughts are that you are young enough to get your life back on track and live a more fulfilling and worry less life. You can and will succeed.

I get lip twitches or vibrations during sleep but it can be weeks apart and when it awakens me, my hand/ fist is pushed into my face. I know there is a facial nerve there.  This only happens on my left side (I sleep on my right) and I've been blaming it on many years of TMJ.  Last night I was almost asleep and my cheek felt like it was flapping for about 4 or 5 seconds. I was not touching my face.  This was new.

My left eye has had a very noticeable twitch for a few weeks. It will pull down or to the side and hold for less than a second before completing the twitch.

I'm blaming it on anxiety. Dealing with an elderly parent with a horrible temper and concerned re: COVID for an unvaccinated son.

My left hand will sometimes shake but I can relax shoulder, arm and tell myself to 'stop' and it will stop.

I'm on thyroid meds,  blood pressure meds (and low dose Klonopin for 12 years).  I've not left the house but for doctor visits for my thyroid, 5 times for a hair cut and once to eat out in 19 months!!!  Most days I'm alone.

Look at all the other threads with folks worrying about twitching. It's almost like it's normal!
