Cancer fears

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone

Guess I'm b-b-back with a brand new tra...nah, new fear. So, few months ago I started getting pain in my forearm, time has gone on, it's continued, and I now have quite severe pain in my upper arm and shoulder blade, it seems to have migrated. I have an appointment with a physio tomorrow, but in the back of my head I'm really worried it's cancer. I'm not sure why, but there's just this fear in me. I seen something recently about someone who had breast cancer, which metastasized to their spine, which they found out after having back pain, and now I'm just convinced the same has happened to me. The length of time I've had the pain, with no relief, is just super concerning to me. I know it's probably the fact I've been working from home for nearly a year and a half, and my setup probably isn't ergonomically optimal, but then I'm also scared the physio says that's the issue, and it ends up being something bad but is shrugged off as nothing. Sorry, spiralling a little, it's 02:38 here and I can't sleep for worrying 😅

The Corona has done a lot of weird things from the way we worked.  I have a severe patch of psoriasis on the bone of my ankle from sitting Indian style while working.  It has taken months to go away, but it is finally starting to clear up.

Physiology is certainly affected by some.  That's not cancer, though.

So went to the physio, they said it could be posture, but they can't see anything evident, so I should make an appointment with the GP, and they've given me some exercises and painkillers in the meantime. Even more scared now. I know it could just be posture as she said, but why do I need to make a GP appointment then? Can't get an appointment for 2 weeks, so going to freak out until then 🙃

Many years ago out of nowhere I suddenly felt like someone was pouring cold water on my upper left thigh, but it was not the case. That part of the thigh also had some paid and was somewhat numb. I got concerned and went to the doctor, who referred me to an orthopedic physician. He examined me and said I had a nerve trapped in my pelvic area which caused the symptoms I was having. This happened because of stretching exercises I was doing he said. He told me I had 2 choices. I could live with it or get it operated on and he said if I were you, I would live with it and I have done so for many years.

That's interesting, I get those cold water sensations on my arms and legs, but only when my anxiety is through the roof.
