SRM 0 Posted January 25, 2021 My wife is convinced since I have an interest in firearms that I should have a strong labido. I recently found firearms as a hobby. I go to the shooting range often, wait in line at 6am to purchase ammo, I am on a number of firearm discussion groups and have made a number of friends that I talk to frequently about the subject. My wife says that because I have a healthy interest in guns that I should have a strong labido. That the two are connected chemically. I take 80mg of Prozac, 300mg of Seroquel, 70mg of Vyvanse and 10mg pills of Valium daily. Does my healthy interest in guns and getting excited when talking about them or going shooting have anything to do with the way my medications are affecting my sex drive. Because currently my sex drive is non-existent.
MARC 431 Posted January 25, 2021 Welcome to the forum. Your interest in firearms has nothing to do with your libido. I would call your physician and see if the medications may be affecting your sex drive.
Wonky 92 Posted April 5, 2021 They don't have anything to do with each other. Call your doctor to express if these symptoms are bothersome. They are to your wife at least she's hinting at feeling some form connection/ neglect. etc. Which should be talked through with her and see how you can fill her needs if these medicines are working for you. jonathan123 2368 Posted May 15, 2021 Hi. SRM. MARC is right. It has nothing to do with firearms but a lot to do with medication. Some meds can suppress the libido, and it is often frustrating for one or the other partner. Your wife may have read somewhere that guns can be an extension of the male ego, being like a phallus. But you are on a lot of medication and a doctor's advice is needed. Have you spoken to your GP about this?
Ironman 198 Posted May 15, 2021 There is a "Report Post" link on the upper right section of the post. Please use that so you won't have to call anyone out. It's my 200th post already - I have only ben here since New Years' Day! lol I don't know what else would affect libido so quickly other than medication. We don't age that fast!
