Pelvic Pain

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone! its been a while since I have posted. I have been doing pretty well lately, mainly because I have been busy with my 11 month old and my 5 year old. Anyways I had my period about 2 weeks ago. One my period ended i began cramping, and i have been feeling a bloated, achy fullness sensation in my lower abdomen towards my pelvis area. I first tried to ignore it, but it has been persistent and it has been stressing me out. Then i began getting worried and the more i worried the more i felt the pain, and so i ended up in the ER. The doctor there ran some blood work and did an ultrasound, and everything came back normal. Thee doctor said blood looks good, urine normal, and ultrasound looks great. when i asked then why do i have this pain, the doctor had no answer..she said could be some  combination of IBS (which i do have) and muscle exertion.  she prescribed me some antibiotics in case it was the beginning of a UTI. I have been taking them, and i have felt a little better it has only been about 2 days and a half since i have started taking them, but i still feel this discomfort and this pressure feeling. i am very scared right now thinking ovarian cancer, colon caner,  bladder cancer idk...has anyone had these symptoms? Thank you in advance !

Ouch. Well if the antibiotics can take a bit longer to kick in. Give it some time. I went through a period were I was getting UTIs back to back, and they sometimes have a false negative. Example I had gone to the doctors got a positive, then next day another two tests one negative one positive. Maybe it is a UTI and it just showed up as you don’t. Or I know, I have 4, you did something with your kids and did pull something and you just forgot.

I’ve also been having pelvic pain recently with a pressure feeling in my lower abdomen and bum at times. It can range from very painful to a quick moment of pain. I have an appointment with my doc on thursday but I’m also in the mindset of ovarian cancer and DVT in my groin because I’m TERRIFIED of DVT.

I have also gone through a period of time after having my daughter that I was having UTIs every month and I always felt heavy and in pain down below. I tried to sit in warm baths as much as possible and drink plenty of water as well as taking my prescriptions. I really hope you feel better soon! I know what it’s like to be at home with kids and be worrying about worst case scenario all the time when all you want to do is focus on the kids 😩

I would say with the tests the doctor did for you that if there was something seriously wrong something would have come back a little bit off. I know that probably won't help ease your mind because I have a hard time believing anyone also! I would say to wait out a couple more days and see if the antibiotics make a difference and if not it doesn't hurt to visit the doctor again.

Could be IBS, could be a benign GYN condition like endo, could be a UTI or other bladder irritation.  Not likely to be ovarian cancer if you just had an ultrasound.  I used to have it all the time; no gyn cancers, just a fibroid, ovarian cysts, endo and adenomyosis.  Two of those you likely don't have, but the other two  wouldn't show on an ultrasound.

Going through this same thing myself...almost exactly as you. Long story short...I have an appt with my gyn for next Friday...although it's all gotten better. I figure I can always cancel if it gets even better still. I suspect that it's IBS for both of us....at least that's what I'm hoping. Are you feeling better?
