For the last week and a half we have been taking care of an injured squirrel that fell from a tree in our yard. This morning the squirrel was lethargic and ended up dying. I immediately thought it might have rabies and I had been handling it and preparing it’s tiny bottle and syringe with my bare hands. I have cuts around my cuticles where I pick and then and now I’m afraid some saliva might have entered these cuts. Im freaking out! I talked to a squirrel rehabilitation place and the guy told me that squirrels don’t really get rabies and I would be fine. I’ve also got a call out to my vet and animal control. Waiting on them to call me back. My anxiety is through the roof and I want to go to the ER! Does anyone happen to have information about squirrels and rabies or advice on what I should do?

MonkeyG started following Chest tightness
-
Hey guys. I’ve found some healthy ways of coping with my HA and have been doing really well for months. Unfortunately I experienced some terrible family trauma and had an insanely awful week. Everything has calmed down now but my chest is still so tight. I feel short of breath and can’t stand up for long periods of time. I have to sit down or physically leave whatever thing I’m doing to go be alone because my chest is so tight I can even breathe. Any insight on why I’m still dealing with this? It’s like it set something off in my body and even though my mind is fine now the physical symptoms won’t go away. Should I make an appointment with my dr for an ekg? My pulse rate will spike but even when it’s low the chest tightness is still there and worse when I’m standing

Anxiety will creep up with the most random things. I was sweeping the balcony of my sisters apartment yesterday and it was covered in dirt, dust and pine straw. So much of it got in my nose and it started burning. I blew my nose but have been worried that I could get a brain infection or lung infection. I can’t stop obsessing over it. I guess I’m just looking for someone to tell me that it will be ok?!

I just asked him and he said 15 years! Ha! His was constant and debilitating. He really had no relief. Ever. We were constantly trying different things. The Invisalign has helped but he still deals with clicking in his jaw but the worst of the symptoms have ceased. Maybe start with your dentist or ENT? I’m so sorry and I hope you get relief soon!

Hi! I’m sorry you are struggling with this. My husband also suffers from TMJ and went on to develop tinnitus. He tried everything. Mouth guards, klonipin, he went to a lady who would literally manipulate his jaw and cheek to try to get relief. He suffered with these same issues! Stress definitely can make it worse! The tingling, numbness, constant pain around whole side of face. He eventually went to an oral surgeon who recommended he get braces. He did Invisalign for a year and it helped move is jaw a bit and that’s brought him some relief. Another option for him would be jaw surgery which we want to avoid! They have determined that his issues are from his jaw not lining up correctly. I’m so sorry you’re suffering and I hope you find some relief soon! We had to try several different things over the course of several years!

Thank you Holls! I’ve been lingering in that dark place in my mind.. literally watch the seconds on the clock to try to get time behind me so I can be that farther out from 7 days ago!!! Feeling a little better about things.

I will add that I live in the south. But I had a physical on Thursday and all of my lab work came back fine so if I was fighting an infection, wouldn’t something have been off?

It’s been a year or more since I’ve posted and my anxiety has been under control for the most part. We spent the 4th of July at a large deep water lake. On the morning of the 4th I decided to go tubing where I was thrown off and water shot straight up my nose to my brain! It’s been 7 days but my anxiety is still so high. I was at one of the cleanest and deepest lakes in our state but I’m still a wreck. Just looking for calming advice. Thank you!

Thank y’all so much for responding. I had my gallbladder out about 5 years ago... it finally got a little better but today my stomach has been making awful noises NON STOP and I just don’t feel good. I guess it was just gas! Never experienced anything like that before! Again, thank you for responding. The support of this place is amazing

Hello. I’ve been doing so well for months. It’s been great. Now I’m faced with what I think is a legit issue to go to ER but husband is telling me it’s anxiety again. My upper abdomen is cramping so bad that it’s taking my breath away. Below my chest and above my belly button. It’s not heartburn although I’m burping non stop. It’s a terrible burning pain and I’m wondering if it’s my heart. When the spasms come, it takes me breath away. This has been going on for a few hours. Could this be heart related? It’s pretty bad and I’m feeling like I need to go to ER.

Holls, I’m on it! It’s werid how anxiety manifests. This was different physically but it finally passed. Thanks for your response. -
Hello. I’ve had a normal day although for the past few weeks my stress levels have been out of control, I haven’t been eating, sleeping well, etc. about 30 minutes ago I was overcome with just a yucky and sick physical feeling. Like pure exhaustion, unable to see clearly, nausea, weak limbs... I’m worried I’m about to have a stroke. My BP was low normal but I just feel awful out of nowhere. I’ve laid down to rest and feel horrible. Like I can’t physically move bad. I’m 37 and in otherwise ok health. Should I be worried about this?

I’m so sorry you’ve had a flare up of this fear! I’m in the same boat as you.. clean colonoscopy in 2015. My stools have changed to hard (usually diarrhea or extremely soft) and blood all in the toilet this morning and has been on toilet paper the last few days. Along with cramping and a late period! Trying not to freak, but I can relate to your feelings.

I would say anxiety. I went through the mother load of all stomach issues last winter, resulting in so many ER trips, labs, ultrasounds and an endoscopy... my issues were anxiety! The mind gut connection is real! Or you could just have a mild stomach virus!
