Starting my meds.

Recommended Posts

For the first time in almost 10 years I'm getting help with my anxiety needs.

Doctor started me on Citalopram 20mg daily and at my request a referral to a therapist, maybe this is what I need to finally start being myself.

Wish me luck :)

As you know andy I am going to be doing the same after 12 years of 'coping' without meds, feels like it's time. Be here for you as you adjust and start the therapy. We can compare and help each other through it, I'm not sure which med I will be taking but the doc mentioned citalopram as well as sertraline, will find out on the 10th Oct when I go back to the doc. Hope we both have success. :)

Hi,
Did you ever try to take some Melatonin supplements they are a natural therapy for abnormal sleep patterns, depression, stomach ulcers and even some cancers. Melatonin is an indole hormone that is primarily involved in the regulation and maintenance of the body’s internal clock.

It is a neurotransmitter-like compound that is a derivative of serotonin and is mainly produced in the pineal gland, near the center of the brain. The role of melatonin is to normalize biological rhythm and adjust the timing across various critical biological processes.

Melatonin release follows the circadian rhythm - in response to the day and night cycle. In fact, the enzymes that synthesize melatonin are activated and depressed by darkness and light, respectively. This clock-setting property means that melatonin is described as a chronobiotic compound.
