Mrsrpmddo 222 Posted October 8, 2015 I get them I've had them off and on for years had tests all ways come back fine. I get them a lot when I'm having heartburn. Get them a lot also when I'm laying down. Unless your having a lot of pain I wouldn't worry. Anxiety causes them as well. Try to relax. I really think it's ok. Hope you feel better

Mark G 1186 Posted October 8, 2015 The heart palpitation is one of the biggest causes of fear in HA. I get them all the time, but the good news is that they are harmless and are caused by stress and anxiety. Anxiety and inward gazing of your heart will mess with the pacemaker nerves and create these missed beats. They are not missed however, your heart has a premature beat and then leaves a gap where the beat should have been. It's perfectly normal in anxious people to get palps. They respond very well to lowering of anxiety. I know they feel weird and make you worry, but it's normal and you will be just fine

tarn 51 Posted October 12, 2015 omg I get them too!!! have done for years. I've had ECGs, Halter Monitors etc, They are annoying at times. Sometimes they are like little butterflies, fluttering in my chest, sometimes its like a sudden 'thud' and other times it feels like my heart races at 1million beats a min. Occasionally they stop me in my tracks, it sort of feels like I might faint, but I think that's more the adrenalin rush that comes with them. Or like I need to take a deep breath to stop it. They usually only last a few seconds. I have had them wake me up in the night a couple of times, that's always a bit disconcerting, but I've come to know them as a part of my anxiety now. I've talked to people who don't have anxiety and even they get them from time to time. I think those of us with health anxiety worry about them more so tend to get them more often. Mark G 1186 Posted October 12, 2015 You got that spot on Tarn, it's the instant adrenalin rush which stops you in your tracks. It's a flash panic which, if you fear it, sets off second panic which would initiate a panic attack. If you do fear the palps, you sensitize yourself to them and they can become more regular. Nothing to worry about mind
