Has anyone tried the Calm mind System?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know anything about a course called the Calm Mind system?
It's a online course helping for adults with anxiety.

I'd appreciate any info for or against.

My immediate reaction to any 'new' system is caution. Especially if they ask for money. Now I know people have to live and if they come up with an idea that helps then good, BUT! There are many out there and with the proliferation of 'wonderful therapies' I have to ask why there is so much anxiety about. American psychiatrists  have called it an epidemic.

It is strange, is it not, that for thousands of years mankind has been seeking help with anxiety and has not succeeded. I wonder when we have examples like Christ, Mohammed, Krishna, Buddha  that we need to look for so many new ways. Now I know these were all founders of religions but what has that got to do with it? If, in the old days of the West you were shot by an arrow would you ask what tribe the guy who shot you came from; would you ask if he was married or had children? Of course not. You just want the arrow out. Do you ask your psychiatrist  if he is a Republican or a Democrat.? Of course not. All those who came before had all the answers but because we are so afraid of the word' religion' we miss the point. We also miss a great opportunity for healing.

I am not religious in the general sense of the word and I don't go to church, but my study of the teachings of Christ, taken from an esoteric view and with expert guidance, put me back on course. No payment was ever made because, as on this site, there was a genuine desire to help.

Did any of the above Masters ask for payment? Did Christ say 'Oh yes, I can heal you but it will cost you twenty shekels'.

When money comes in genuine concern goes out of the window. I am not talking about professionals who earn their living by helping such as counsellors. I am talking about the 'johnny come lately' people who cash in on the vulnerable and who know how desperate you are and who have no psychological training whatsoever.

Look up on Amazon the word 'anxiety'. There are literally hundreds of books. CD's, videos etc. All costing money and generally of very little value.

OK, so the Masters may not be for you, but have you really looked or have you been put off by 'religion'. Three thousand years ago a Greek philosopher said, 'Man, know thyself'. There is more meaning in that one phrase than all the books put together.     Jon.

I agree with Jon my brother spent close to five hundred dollars and he said looking back he said it was a waste of money. The answers all lie within us ... Seek and thou shall find.

My two cents :)

Ah yes, rainbow. "Seek and thou shalt find, knock and the door shall be opened unto you". Now this is NOT a religious site and I appreciate how such words can be misunderstood. Distorted religion has been the cause of so much fear and heartache. We all know that what is going on in the Middle East is a gross distortion of Islam, but what a lot see they believe. There have always been master psychologists who, while not having certificates and diplomas, were able to point the way out of anxiety having suffered themselves. They talked of love and understanding, which the world so badly needs. Because they pointed out that it's the way we live and our attitude to our fellows that's the cause of our problem; because they gave clear instructions as to how we should behave, very few wanted to know. It was their followers who founded the religions based on their teachings, and what a mess that turned out to be. From the Christian inquisition to Isis it has all been a distortion. I wonder why we twist words to our own ends?                        Jon.
