How do you get your brain to shut up?

I have been suffering insomnia for a while now and quit my job because I couldn't focus at work anymore due to not having enough rest. Some things that help me occasionally are:

  • Chamomile tea
  • Natural sleep aids (Calm Forte)
  • Reading or watching mindless tv before bed - this helps to divert my thoughts and relax me so they don't race as much.
  • Combine the above with exercising throughout the day

Good luck to you. I know the racing thoughts can be incredibly frustrating. :(

Creating the best atmosphere for sleep includes maintaining your room dark, peaceful and at a reasonable temperature,will assists people to loosen up.
