joe17 7 Posted June 2 It's been a long time since I've been here so here it goes . Recently I had a scare one morning . I woke up and the room was spinning like crazy. It was so bad but it only happened when I laid down and looked to my left.. I wasn't familiar with bppv but it sounded like that. Anyway after a few days I went to the doctor And they said it was a sinus infection since my nose was really badly clogged and inflamed . I wasn't really able to breathe Out of it for 2 weeks. Im on anti biotic now but I do notice that sometimes I dont feel the dizziness at all when I try to trigger it and I have moments in the day where I feel great, then the fatigue and dizziness comes back . On and off it's like that lately . My head also feels stuffed up and groggy like when you have a cold . Anyone have similar issues ever ???
BeautifulDisaster 53 Posted June 2 I have had bppv once before. Lasted about 2 weeks. Didn’t have any sinus issues at that time. However, sinus issues can cause dizziness as can tight neck and shoulder muscles. Did the dr check you for bvvp? They can do that- I had massive spinning and, because I didn’t know what it was, went to the dr. They checked me for it. Had never heard of it before. Since you are confirmed to have some bad sinus issues and you are taking the antibiotics and the dizziness is clearing up, though not totally gone, it sounds like it might likely be the sinus issues. And anxiety will increase the effects of dizziness as well so if you are constantly worried about it and checking for it, it will be more likely that you will experience it. Bvvp is harmless, just annoying. So regardless of it being that or your sinuses, it’s more an annoyance than catastrophic. Hope this helps.

They didnt check me for it but I told them about it and said I possibly Had it . I spoke with other doctors and physicians since I work in A hospital And they were aware of bppv . I just hope it goes away soon .
BeautifulDisaster 53 Posted June 2 As I said, it took about 2 weeks to go away for me. The worst of it was maybe 3 days. However if yours is sinus related- which it sounds like it is - then as long as the sinus issues persist, you can expect off and on moments of dizziness. And the more you focus on it, the more likely you are to feel it. Hope you feel better soon.
Ironman 178 Posted June 4 Sinus issues can affect the ears and the eyes. I had congestion in my ears for ove r a week- antihistamines can help.
MARC 428 Posted June 4 A.number of years ago I was dizzy every day for 6 weeks. I went to my ENT physician who told me that sometimes the crystals in your ear shift which can cause dizziness as it takes a while for the brain to catch up with this shift, so thus the dizziness.
joe17 7 Posted June 8 So I laid down twice today and didnt get spinny . I didn't get it at all yesterday at all even when laying down . So I hope whatever it is I had is clearing up . I'm still on antibiotics until Saturday. I just feel scared to lay that way so my anxiety is acting up , shaking , rapid heart beat etc .
