Christy67 10 Posted June 10, 2022 For about a week I have these strange surges of pain radiating at the top of my head. It’s started last Saturday and happens throughout the day. It’s not a constant headache but a flash of pain on top of my head that lasts a few seconds. Now my mind is going nuts and I’m scared of brain cancer. I rarely get headaches. Does anyone know what thsi could be other than the worst case scenario? I could really use some words of encouragement.
MARC 431 Posted June 10, 2022 Many years ago I was getting tingling and crawling sensations on the top of my head. I got nervous and talked my ENT physician into giving me an MRI of my brain which showed nothing. I was told that stress and tension in your back neck and shoulders can cause head pain and odd head sensations.
MARC 431 Posted June 10, 2022 My physician also told me that the typical first sign of a brain tumor are seizures.
Christy67 10 Posted June 10, 2022 Thank you Marc. I’m hoping it’s just stress.

Neck pain, vertigo, "fogginess", constant headache in forehead/temples, muscle twitches you name it. I had an MRI just come back clear. While reassuring, its also a "no answer" that continues to feed this beast. I recommend following up with your primary for worrying symptoms but it sounds like you're suffering from referred neck pain to the top of your head from your neck. Can be typical for those of us who are always tense with anxiety and stress. 1
