TW: hallicinations 

I am looking into this as a possible treatment for Depression. As far as I can tell, it is highly effective. People I've talked to swear by it. It sounds intense though. My psychiatrist's description included the phrase "edge of psychosis" which is about the scariest phrase I can think of.  😵 The context was that a doctor is there so that you don't go over the edge but all the same. I am feeling a weird mixture of despair, terror and hope right now.

Ketamine is also known on the street as "Special K", a "party drug".  It's encouraging to know that a doctor is directly involved.  The rest, like you, doesn't sit well concerning the possible danger - but that's more about the quality itself.  Street versions could be dirty.  Definitely talk to your doctor.

I have the name of a doctor and I will call them but right now I have no energy to do anything. I hate phone calls. I put them off for ages. 😂

I know the feeling.  I had to learn to push through the depression - it takes energy to do that.

I would look into TMS therapy which is geared toward treatment resistant depression. It is FDA approved and I know of someone who was in pretty bad shape who it helped. It may be worth a chance as you have nothing to lose.

I've been given Ketamine for pain relief at hospital setting. It was not for depression. I did have long term anxiety spike and did not feel well after. If you try it, please have a support system around you!

There is a nasal spray version of it known as Spravato (brand name). I'm hoping my insurance will cover it.
