Jessi 24 Posted March 10, 2021 Does anyone have any good coping mechanisms you use when you have bad anxiety that would could share? I stopped taking my medicine 2 months ago and was doing great until I “found a reason” to obsess about my health again. Now I can’t even lay down without a racing heart, I’m crying a lot, and everything is just so overwhelming.! how do you move past the anxiety? I don’t want to depend on pills forever. im gonna try another counselor, but all the ones I’ve saw before haven’t been helpful. Example: “put your worries in a “worry box” and only take them out at a certain time each day” ......ok if I could do that, I wouldn’t need a counselor in the first place!! Ironman 198 Posted March 11, 2021 I separate the worry into something I can control and something I can't. I let go of what I can't control, then use positive thoughts and self-reassurance to handle the things I can.

One of my areas is worrying about what other people think of me - not putting as much emphasis on that and more on knowing who I am.

Feel free to message me anytime. I get the struggles of anxiety You have to let go of things you know you can't control - that's a facet of anxiety - the control. You can only handle things you can change. Break up those things into manageable pieces. Otherwise, you are making yourself sick over things you have no power over.
