Ears ringing amd visual phenomena from Anxiety

Recommended Posts

Weird!! About 5 months ago I started getting some textbook Generalized Anxiety Symptoms. Flashing lights, lump in throat, and just a sense of nervousness. Then I started to get symptoms I haven't had in a long time like EARS RINGING, SEEING TRAILS off of objects like I'm hallucinating. The last time this happened, I took PAXIL and the symptoms went away after 5 days. This time it's been 3 weeks and no relief. I start a new job on June 1st and I definitely can't start like this. Has anyone had these particular anxiety symptoms and can you offer some advice . thank you

I have had ringing and buzzing primarily in my left ear quite often and for well over a year.  When I told my internal medicine and ENT physicians about it, they told me that they have it too and not to worry about it and learn to live with it. My wife says she has it too. In fact, while I am typing this response, my left ear is ringing now.

I had ringing in my ear (tinnitus) in 2018. My coworkers all knew it drove me crazy. I had a doctor, to use a very non-technical term, hose down my inner ear. He explained that swabbing only removes a small bit of buildup and pushed most deeper in. The ringing cleared up immediately.

I've had tinnitus for a long time. It gets much worse when my anxiety is bad. I'm not sure what to make of the seeing trails though.
