AbeLinkedIn 41 Posted June 22, 2019 So the other day I noticed a strange pain in my middle back on the left side. I thought nothing of it until it persisted today and now I'm wondering if I have a kidney problem. I'm not entirely sure of where it is except the main is mostly when touched or if I move a certain way, not when I pee or use the bathroom otherwise. I'm a mess, any symptom I feel my mind immediately goes to the worst case scenario
AbeLinkedIn 41 Posted June 22, 2019 How would I be able to tell the difference between something visceral or muscular? Help?
bin_tenn 1252 Posted June 23, 2019 You would know, your body has a funny way of telling you when something is amiss. As far as I know, you can't reproduce pain caused by kidneys by touch or movement. Sounds muscular. Give your back a rest the best you can, do some light stretching, it'll take time.
AbeLinkedIn 41 Posted June 23, 2019 That's reassuring, I just get these odd fears at times and wonder if something is muscular or visceral.
AbeLinkedIn 41 Posted June 23, 2019 Now I'm a little panicky: I went to pee and while I didn't have any pain while peeing, my urine is dark and amber like a beer, though I haven't peed in a few hours and maybe dehydrated but now I'm kind of scared, coupled with the pain upon movement/touch. I've had several utis and one ended up being a kidney infection.. there was no guessing. I was nauseous, high fever and dark urine and pain after urination in my case.. antibiotics knocked it right out. You are describing muscle strain not kidney issues. Maybe lay on a heating pad or take a warm bath. It's normal for urine to be dark if you are not drinking a lot. .. it's doesn't mean infection. Just up your fluids.
AbeLinkedIn 41 Posted June 23, 2019 Update: I think you guys are right, it feels more muscular in nature since it seems to come and go with movement and touch as opposed to constant pain. Maybe I bruised my back and didn't realize it? And if it was a kidney thing the pain would be constant right?
eyedw 1 Posted June 23, 2019 If you have Kidney infection, I believe first you will have UTIs, your pee will at least hurt, you will run a fever, and the pain will not come and go with movement and touch. try to drink a lot of water (like gallons, spread in time), avoid anything spicy, caffeine and alcohol. I dont think it's that easy to get a kidney infection...but they are very curable with antibiotics.
