Kindra 87 Posted September 13, 2017 For the last week I have been having weird, random, mild pain that started in my lower right abdomen along with feeling nauseous sometimes. The pain isn't constant and moves around. Sometimes it's mid belly, or up by my ribs or on the left lower side, even in my back by my kidney. It's driving me crazy! I've also noticed that I get what feels like pressure above my right hip bone. I went and seen my dr yesterday about it and he pushed around on my belly ( tender on the right side ) and was sent for blood & urine tests and am booked in Thursday for an ultrasound. Has anyone seen else had issues like this?? It seriously came on out of the blue, the hubby and I went for brunch and on the way home I got a mild pain and felt sick, almost like when you're about to have a panic attack but don't. I'm kind of freaking out and trying really hard not to self diagnose or get a too worked up but my anxiety is starting to get the best of me. My dr said it could be my appendix or my ovary but it needs further investigation. What could it be?!
BrokenArrow 52 Posted September 13, 2017 Welcome to my life. I have always been a stomach worrier. One of my biggest fears have always been appendicitis. Mainly because I am terrified of being put under. I have gone to the dr about a thousand times telling them that is has to be my appendix or my gall bladder and every time they do the same thing. They lay me on my back and push on my stomach and they tell me that if the pain is not horrible then there is a very very high chance that it is neither. Another test to check for appendicitis is to stand on your tippy-toes and then let yourself drop to the floor landing on your heels. It will shake your entire torso and if it is your appendix it will hurt like hell. It is most likely trapped gas or muscle tension. I get pains all over my mid section and basically live with them all the time. I get them high and low, in the middle and off to the sides. Gas pains, muscle pains, sharp pains, dull pains, shooting pains, achy pains... all of them. I have been dealing with them for over a decade. I still have all my organs and nothing has really happened other then about a million unnecessary panic attacks.
Kindra 87 Posted September 13, 2017 Thanks for replying! I'm hoping it's nothing! The thought of needing surgery creeps me out! I honestly don't think it's my appendix as the pains move around way too much and it doesn't hurt when I cough or sneeze. It's beyond frustrating!! I'm sorry you suffer with this, it's only been a couple of weeks and I'm fed up already
BrokenArrow 52 Posted September 13, 2017 Yes it is most likely nothing. Usually stomach issues cause intense pain that does not go away. Anything appendix related would have you in full blown terror by now. The problem is, the more you think about it and become more aware of the area the more the issue will present itself. The other positive thing is if the dr sent you home then he obviously isn't too worried about it. Maybe try to change your diet and see if that helps at all. Best of luck. Kindra 87 Posted September 13, 2017 I will try that. Thanks for the reassurance, I really appreciate it!
Bobnnat 496 Posted September 13, 2017 When she was about 17, my daughter's appendix acted up and eventually had to be removed. When she felt it, and this was the first time she felt the pain, it was so bad I recall she was literally crawling on the floor from her bedroom to mine and crying. Scared the hell out of me. So I agree with Broken, if it was your appendix or for that matter anything serious with an organ, you'd be in constant miserable pain. Bob
moneakers 3 Posted September 18, 2017 I'm actually happy I found this post. I've been having nonspecific mild pain in my upper left quadrant. I do sometimes get intermittent pain elsewhere in my belly, but for some reason I'm focusing on it most in that spot. I've convinced myself I have pancreatic cancer (since it's so difficult to detect early). Or maybe even a heart problem as pain can be under the ribs. If it's not one thing I'm worried about it's another :/

I have had pain in my upper left abdomen that turned out to be acid reflux! It's crazy what anxiety can do, it can take the smallest thing and in our minds, turn it into something HUGE and deadly! Hope you are feeling better!
moneakers 3 Posted September 18, 2017 That's good! And thanks! I keep debating about going to the doctor because it's so intermittent. I feel like it's probably not really a thing but when it's there I can't help worrying about it :/
