GMan 5 Posted March 23, 2017 I started on Zoloft last night. I was feeling a little sick and dizzy after waking this morning, which seems to be from the Zoloft I took last night. Then I felt a sudden warm burning sensation in my abdomen, which started to quickly spread to my chest and body. I felt the sensation all the way up to my mouth and head. My mouth and tongue felt warm and tingly, and my arms and legs felt warm and tingly. Then my heart started to beat fast, which I'm not sure if it was because I panicked, or if it was related to the feeling. Please tell me someone knows what I'm talking about. Pythonian 29 Posted March 24, 2017 I can't speak specifically to Zoloft, but when I started Lexapro many years ago and then Prozac a couple,of years ago I did experience some increased anxiety at first which is not uncommon. Again I don't know about Zoloft but I don't think that would be a side effect after only one dose. Sounds like an anxiety flare up due to starting the medication. Hang in there! It may take, some time, but when the SSRI kicks in it will be worth it. Best wishes.
JOYCICLE 654 Posted March 24, 2017 Meds take some time to be fully effective and in the interim your body and brain can feel lots of other stuff. You probably did panic at the sensations and that's why your heart rate rose.
