unicorn 4 Posted February 13, 2017 So last thursday, I had this weird feeling that there's food stuck in my throat and until today . I tried to cough it out but it's still stuck there . I also experience a mild chest pain just as if something's poking my chest . The day after that, we had an overnight at my place and we were outside the house in a canopy and it was a cold evening . . . When I woke up the next day my whole body was so cold and had a back pain the following day . I get a back pain whenever the wind hits my back and it kinda hurts when I try to breathe and in the Philippines we call it " panuhot " and a remedy for that is a massage . . . It did help but my back still hurts a bit when I try to inhale . Since I feel both . . . Thinking I might have a problem with my lungs .
Ihadcancer 321 Posted February 14, 2017 Pneumonia usually comes with a productive cough (brown, green or even tinged with blood) and a high fever. Did you sleep outside? You might have crunched yourself up to try and get warm and pulled a muscle in your back. I've got a horrible head cold and have sneezed so much the last 2 1/2 days that my ribs hurt like crazy. I've never sneezed this much before and I've never had my ribs hurt like this before. About your throat, sounds like maybe you scratched your throat. One of my trips to the walk in clinic during my extremely anxious times was for something like that. The doctor assured me nothing was stuck that he could find but told me if I'd scratched it even by clearing my throat or coughing, not chewing a chip or other food well enough that it would get a tiny bit inflamed and feel like something was there for a while. It was like the lump in the throat we all get 'hystericus globulus'. Feel better soon! I'll bet a massage would feel awesome and maybe work out that kink in your back! Ihadcancer 321 Posted February 15, 2017 I use otc and generic Chloraseptic from Walmart if I'm about to eat or if I'm choking a lot. I've been sick with a cold or something for a week and choked on bread crumbs at Longhorn's last night. Wish I'd had some with me, but also I gargle with warm salt water. Try to eat softer foods and drink cooler things until it's better. Your epiglottis is in that area and can get scratched, too. It'll take a little while for it to heal but if you can reassure yourself and avoid foods that will irritate it, you'll forget about it after a while and then realize it's all healed up. I also get those generic Hall's cough drops to use to suck on if I'm out and it bothers me. With this cold, my throat was super sore every morning and choking me during the night from dryness probably. That's hard to ignore, isn't it? Hope you feel better soon! unicorn 4 Posted February 15, 2017 Oh . . . Yes, I easily get a dry throat 'cause I sleep with my mouth open and when I wake up I usually get a short cold and it's gone the rest of the day . It's weird 'cause I cough out this " jelly " clear substance ever since and usually a lot when I wake up .

Ihadcancer 321 Posted February 15, 2017 That's just thick saliva. Anxiety meds cause thick saliva and dry mouth. I sleep in a night guard because I grind my teeth (boy do they hurt today so I must have really clinched hard last night) and that keeps my mouth slightly open. I woke once last night because the front of the night guard had stuck to my lip and when I pulled it loose, it felt like I'd torn off some skin on the inside upper lip. Not sore today tho. Also, did you know some tooth paste will cause the skin on the inside of your mouth to sort of slough off? It's harmless but weird. It's like a stringy jelly. It's the whitening tooth paste most of the time. I wrote Crest and they said to rinse your mouth well after brushing if it bothered you. Duh........ kay19801 10 Posted February 15, 2017 Hi Maybe worth nothing but I have had Pneumonia and it is a very sore lung infection. I struggled with it for about 1 week before I had to go to A&E and they confirmed I had it on my left lung moving into the right, the pain was horrible, could not lay on my back, breathing was excruciating as time went on, I was not eating or drinking, I felt so ill but that was nearly 15 years ago, its not a nice thing to have. The " food stuck in throat " sensation is sometimes on and off now . The thing that's bothering me now is my back . . . I recently have short breaths . It feels like something's putting pressure on every part of my back . My masseuse put hard pressure when I had a massage even when I asked for a soft pressure . I hope that's the reason why I'm in mild pain right now .

Hi ! I'm sorry to hear that . My anxiety just acts up every time I get sick . My friend got pneumonia before 'cause when she was a kid 'cause she played outside and had her sweat dry up on her back . I for one have my sweat on my back dry up instead of changing or wiping it . So that got me worried . I'm not sure how anyone could get pneumonia, I'm afraid to look it up 'cause I know it's just gonna scare me . I'd like to hear from you since you've already had it, if it's ok with you . kay19801 10 Posted February 17, 2017 Germs called bacteria or viruses usually cause it. It starts when you breathe the germs into your lungs. You may be more likely to get the disease after having a cold or the flu. I got it without having a cold it just developed so I guess I caught it from someone near to me or stood next to me etc...
