anxiety overload advice please

Recommended Posts

Hi all, so when I got up this morning I decided I was not going to check or google today, however my anxiety is through the roof, can't shake the fear I have something serious wrong, I have had many different concerns over the last 5 months, my latest one is my collarbone, I have a small bump which has been there ages, but the bit that concerns me is there is a long ropey band of what feels like muscle, very elastic attached from the collarbone to the muscle at the back, now please don't tell me to go back to docs I can't cope with drs anymore, iI just need someone to reassure me what it could be, I know no one is trained to diagnose me, but maybe someone has had a similar thing, it dissapears when I move my head in a certain way, in the past I have had a couple of accidents that could have caused damage to that area, I came of my bike and went over the handle bars, I was also hit by a car from behind which caused quite severe whiplash, where I could not move my neck from side to side for months, do you think this could have caused this, maybe the muscle repaired to tight, I just don't know, if someone could help that would be great and I promise I will never prod or google again thanx xx

Would you be willing to pay a Physiotherapist to massage the area? Perhaps they can tell you if it feels normal!?

Hi herbie. It may come as surprise to you but the body has 'memory' as does the mind. Ask any Osteopath. It retains memory of damage or trauma.  You can go years without a problem after an accident, but some thing or event can 'trigger' a recurrence of the problem. Just as we have memory so has the body. It is pretty obvious to me that is what you have. Of course, if it worries you overmuch then you should ask your doctor for advice. Or did I read in a previous post that you have seen a doctor? Googling and prodding is OUT. Don't do it. You are not a doctor, and self diagnosis in anxiety is dangerous. Can you get Osteopathy or see a Chiropractor? They can work wonders with the body.To relieve the body symptoms can help the mind to get back on track. Hang in there, it does come right but give it time.     Jon.
