JOYCICLE 654 Posted July 11, 2014 You had beer last night and lived through the night and this morning you're fine ! RIGHT????? Altering your brain with alcohol is not a great idea for some of us. I don't drink at all for a variety of reasons, but one is I don't want to be altered. It's hard enough to think the things I have to think to stay calm , without interfering with my brain chemistry. So the alcohol made your brain get loose and not as focused and when you're not as focused, its' very easy for someone like ........... let's just say PANIC...to come in and take over the thought process. So that's what you got this morning. Panic's running the show because for a few hours you dropped the steering wheel . So take it back. Tell her to get lost . Do not take your HR . Not one more time this morning
TheForgottenOne 3 Posted July 11, 2014 I haven't taken it ..... I think I screwed up because I read an article that said after a bit of emotional stress people can have cardiac arrest ! Well last night me and my husband got in a HUGE fight ! My heart rate was absolutely crazy I didn't count it but it was beating out of my chest, and felt funny beating! So now I'm scared that with the alcohol and fight it could happen to me !! Arghhhhh damn I hate this shit
Gilly 1086 Posted July 11, 2014 "after a bit of emotional distress you can have cardiac arrest" If that's true how come none of us have? Everyone here has endured emotional distress, some on a daily basis, and thats just us, what about the millions of other people who have it too, and don't have heart attacks? People in high stress jobs like police and the military. Because of your fear you just zoned in on that and didn't consider the other aspects that have to be part of why someone would have a heart attack after emotional distress. There has to other factors with their health. Your heart can't just stop beating after suffering emotional distress or the population of the world would be about 100 people, not billions. JM, you have to address your health anxiety, it's fine to have a few beers but when you aren't dealing with your anxiety drinking is only gonna make you feel worse, alcohol is a toxin and a depressant, it's destructive not constructive. I know its hard, I had a huge argument with my husband today, he flipped because I was taking too long in the shop trying to decide on what colour hair dye to buy. I absolutely despise arguing, all it does is make me feel like shit but couples argue, it happens, its normal. I know I try and avoid it because I think I will just end up having a panic attack, but I usually don't. I think it's good to blow off some steam sometimes and clear the air. We must not focus on the negative and try and look at it logically. Arguing isn't going to make us drop dead, we just have an irrational fear and don't react well to the stimulation the adrenaline causes, but it won't hurt us. TheForgottenOne 3 Posted July 11, 2014 That makes sense ..... Thank you so much for talking with me
JOYCICLE 654 Posted July 11, 2014 Right? A bit of emotional distress causes heart attacks? Why is anyone alive? Everyione has had a ' bit ' of emotional distress ! If a fight with spouse caused heart attacks, I'm sure it would be illegal and no one would do it for fear of killing people. Soldiers in combat don't die of heart attacks?
