Gizmo1607 8 Posted June 11, 2014 I don't even know where to start... I'm 30 weeks pregnant and slowly but surely since being pregnant my anxiety has got worse an worse! I knew this could happen but hoped it wouldn't! Befote pregnant an in the beginning I was feeling great anxiety wise! Felt like I was over coming alot of my anxiety (also agoraphobic too) but as the pregnancy has gone on I've just gone in to a downward anxiety spiral, and have been conpletely abandoned by my Gp, the hospital referred me to a psychiatrist.. he has abandoned me too! Other than my fiance, about 2 other family members and prob 2 friends I have no one to turn to an my fiance family an friends work so obviously cant be here 24/7 for me! I've got drs appt, hospital appts ect an I have no idea how I'm going to attend them, I've become extremely agoraphobic again and even going to my own moms stresses me out. Has anyone else got like this while pregnant? Does it get better? Will I feel human again?!
Ride With Me 0 Posted June 11, 2014 Well... considering I am male, I will not pretend to know anything about pregnancy. My experience comes from being a observer of pregnancy as well as a fellow sufferer of anxiety and panic. Obviously, being pregnant plays games with all the hormones of the mother which can be causing some of these problems. How have you been sleeping? I know pregnancy can make sleep patterns and getting comfortable tough. From my experience with anxiety, on nights I get really good sleep I feel SOOOO much more relaxed the following day. Sleep seems to effect my anxiety so much that if I have a few "tough" days in a row I will take a sleep aid at night, and it will almost take it all away the next morning when I wake up. Being pregnant you may not be interested in sleep meds, but there are a lot of natural and herbal methods to help promote sleep. I have had great luck with a nice cup of warm chamomile tea before bed. Also doing some light yoga or stretching before bed helps me be able to get comfortable faster and relax the racing mind. Either way, you are not alone. We are all here to help and support. I hope things get better for you
Gilly 1086 Posted June 11, 2014 I'm sorry gizmo, no doubt the pregnancy hormones are messing with you, your GP and psych have abandoned you? That is not right, I would see if there were a different GP you could talk to, you have a right to treatment. But yes it will get better, you will get through this, I promise you that. I have seen a few ladies go through this, and they all made it just fine. Try not to think about future appts, etc, stay in the day, don't think too far ahead and worry about things you don't need to worry about yet.
