Christy67 10 Posted July 2, 2022 I have a broken toe and skin worries. My anxiety is so high. I had a non cancerous mole removed on cheek 5 weeks ago and it’s at a stand still with healing. Very red and indecent. Worried I have delayed healing and it won’t fill in and my face will be indented. can anyone reassure me with this?? Thank you! Ironman 198 Posted July 3, 2022 It will heal. I had a mole removed on the side of my nose - where they tell you NOT to put wart remover! I was told to put petroleum jelly on the spot and then cover it with a little circle adhesive bandage. At five weeks, I would probably have a doctor look at it to see if there is a method he uses to speed up healing. There's nothing wrong health-wise, just cosmetic.
MARC 431 Posted July 3, 2022 Back in 2008, I had basal cell carcinoma removed from the upper right side of my nose. The Mohs surgeon said the tumor was deeper then he thought so he had to go in twice to get it all. The scar took months to heal but after a while it was not noticeable. I have also have had two moles removed from my head and I was advised to go to a plastic surgeon, so my hair would not be affected. If it bothers you I would go back to the dermatologist and see what he says and go from there. There are prescription and non prescription products that promote healing and I would pursue that too.

Thank you. I’ve sent pictures to my plastic surgeon who thinks it looks normal. She did not prepare me for the healing time said It wouldn’t be noticeable in 2 months now she is sayin 6-12 months. It’s beet red and so noticeable but it’s hard to cover because of indent that splinters. I’ve been using silicone as instructed. Marc since yours was deep do you remember indent and did it fill in? When you say months do you know how many? Thank you so much xxx
MARC 431 Posted July 3, 2022 Come to think of it, the scar on the side of my nose lasted over a year.
Christy67 10 Posted July 3, 2022 Well that’s good to know so I don’t freak out if it doesn’t go away right away.

It's all about the layers of the skin building and replacing the top layer. There will be a period of growth at first. Some places take longer than others.
