Scott1 0 Posted March 15, 2022 I’m a long time anxiety suffered centered around mainly my heart. I recently weened off lexapro 10 MG (been two weeks now) and I’ve been checking my BP for the last 5 days and it’s been 108/79 average morning and evening but today, it’s been high all day. 153/91 and basically averaging 150/88 and I spoke to my doctor and he recommended I start taking metaproponlol 25 MG I’m sure that’s not the right spelling. I’m scared about my BP suddenly spiking. What if I have a stroke or heart attack. And does anyone else take metaproponolol
MARC 430 Posted March 17, 2022 My wife is a pharmacist and she said metoprolol is prescribed quite a bit. She also said blood pressure fluctuates quite a bit and just because it is higher one day it does not mean it is high all of the time. I would stop taking it all of the time as that can make you anxious too.
Ironman 196 Posted March 17, 2022 I take Losartan, and I can temporary black out if I get up too quickly. The doctor said "just don't get up so fast". You would need to track your BP over a longer period to know for sure. Spikes aren't going to happen unless there is trauma or a decongestant medication - that's what got me. They took my BP and said "welp, you might have had a hemorrhagic stroke when you had the blood in the eye. You need to go to the ER". They put me on Losartan.
