SL761 3 Posted September 8, 2021 Hey folks, hope you're doing well. I was out on a walk tonight to see the sunset when I felt something touch my ankle, and then a sting on my left thumb. I felt a burning pain for around a minute or two around the mark, which soon turned into a tiny red dot surrounded by a white circle. I am almost positive that a wasp or bee stung me, but I can't get the possibility out of my head that a bat bit me. The area still stings a little. I feel so angry at myself for even going out in the first place. I've just been recovering from the last period of HA, and this is the last thing I need. I just want to be free from this fear, so that I can live my life properly. I'm sorry, this is more of a vent post than a question. I guess I just feel like any kind of reassurance would help. AriaRen 19 Posted September 8, 2021 Where I live has sooooo many bats, I see them all the time when I go out walks - you wouldn't miss one biting you. They're big enough to 100% notice, and they also try to avoid humans, so it's incredibly unlikely to have been a bat. Don't be angry about going out!! You'll never feel better if you hide inside from everything, the world is too amazing to hide from it all the time ❤️
Ironman 198 Posted September 8, 2021 Yeah, bats are big. It was likely a sting. Bats also would bite or scratch. It doesn't sound like either of those happened.
Doug97 19 Posted September 9, 2021 Bats have 2 upper and 2 lower canines so there should be 2 or 4 dots not one. Sounds like a wasp sting. Also, bats don't tend to bite people.
