Slight burn at beginning of urination every once in a while

Recommended Posts

Does anyone else get a slight burn at the beginning of urination every once in a while?  Like just as it comes out but then it goes away during the rest of it?  I feel like this happens more when I've had coffee.  I asked my doctor and he said it's concentrated urine.  He described it like a chemical burn feel but of course only slight.  He didn't seem concerned at all.  It seems if I drink a lot of water it isn't there.

I get the same thing myself sometimes. I have actually had some burning through more then just the beginning of when I pee and I checked out OK.

Thanks again Marc. Do you ever see something in the toilet when you urinate rather at the bottom or floating? We've had some stuff build up under the lip of our toilet that's darker colored over time and I think some might have come loose and it kind of freaked me out that it came out of me. I just feel like I'm spiraling into a bladder cancer worry nightmare.

It's the toilet.  Part of the hard water business going through the pipes.  I have to clean my toilet at that point.  It wouldn't be from a person.

Thanks Ironman. that's what I had wondered since we have well water. also, when I've gone in a jar in the past for like stones and stuff like that to try to catch them I've noticed little tiny white flakes in the urine. I figured it must be protein or something like that. Have you ever had such a thing?

More than likely, yes, I would think it would be other things thank protein.  Salt would be one thing.

My physician told me bladder cancer is pretty rare and occurs predominately in the elderly.

Thanks marc. My doctor basically told me the same thing. I made a mistake a few days ago and typed black specks into Google and of course bladder cancer shows up even though it was probably stuff from inside my toilet. I also know that Google has certain algorithms and will bring up stuff that isn't necessarily true for a certain situation.

I remember once asking my internal medicine physician about a carcinoid tumor and he said I had a better chance of getting struck by lightning.

Is that a bladder tumor?

I remember once trying to self diagnose myself to my GI physician and he said to me, you are a CPA, so stick to what you know best and leave me the medical diagnosing to me.

Yeah this is exactly what I need to try and remember.

Soap can even cause a slight burn.  It doesn't mean your sick; it means you're CLEAN lol.

Yeah I saw my doctor today and asked him about the little white flaky things and he didn't seem concerned and did a urine test.  It came back normal so now just waiting on microscopic.

So microscopic came back fine too.  I guess I just need to let this all go and try to focus on being happy.
