Mamaisanxious3 17 Posted October 1, 2020 Has anyone ever had a situation where the knee “gives” very quickly( I’ve never fallen or come close too it Even ) Kinda like the knee slides forward slightly? it seems to happen after I’ve been sitting in a weird position for a while or while I’m walking very slow for some reason anyway it’s happened a few times on and off the last 8 weeks. It’s so slight that no one has ever noticed just me. And I think it’s happened before in my life too.... (just never freaked out )It seems to happen more when I think about it. I initially thought als and I’m trying to keep out of that rabbit hole...... it would be easier without all these dang twitches! Also how long can it take for the twitches to go away after you’ve been an anxious wreck?
davide.h 26 Posted October 8, 2020 The closest thing I can think of is suddenly twitching awake just before falling asleep but I haven’t had this exact experience.
MARC 431 Posted October 10, 2020 I have known a number of people who had ALS and the symptoms you had they did not. I would not worry about ALS as your issue is probably just muscular related.
Mamaisanxious3 17 Posted October 10, 2020 Thanks all. I’m having a hard time ignoring the twitches especially. I want them to go away so badly do you all think my symptoms would be noticeable after 2 months with als? . 🤦♀️
MARC 431 Posted October 11, 2020 As I have said earlier, I have known people who had ALS and twitching wasn't a symptom they had. ALS is actually an extremely rare disease and you have a much higher chance of getting cancer and cardiovascular disease.
MARC 431 Posted October 11, 2020 In the USA, ALS has an estimated 5,000 new cases per year. As a comparison, there are an estimated 720,000 new heart attack cases per year in the USA.
Mamaisanxious3 17 Posted October 11, 2020 I’m sorry Marc , I know you have said this . I’m trying to get it out of my mind. I was In such a deep hole for almost two months. MARC 431 Posted October 11, 2020 A number of years ago my daughter was in college and was very stressed out about final exams. She began to get this terrible eye twitch which was even noticeable by me. She complained about it and it magically went away when her exams were over. It must have been stress related. MARC 431 Posted October 11, 2020 I too have health anxiety and I tend to worry about heart issues and some forms of cancer. I don't like feeling this way either.
Mamaisanxious3 17 Posted October 11, 2020 Thank you Marc. I’m sorry you are having your own Health Anxious worries too. Something that had been helping me is just remembering to try and live in today and Not the future. So many things we worry about never happen. I'm sending some prayers your way now!
