Twitching popping up in weird places.

Recommended Posts

So lately I've ad twitching show up in foot (has all but gone away after a few days), my right abdomen (off and on for a few months), and most recently (especially today) in my left pectoral area. I know I should be calm because my EMGs were clean, but why after seemingly never really getting twitching in my life aside from my eyelids occasionally, why am I getting all of these? I feel like the past few days I haven't even been obsessing over my health, either

From what I understand and experienced myself after 1 Month of debilirating anxiety I got calm. Once I did the twitching began like crazy. All over. For the past few weeks I've felt more like myself and twitching is slowing down. It's a result of tense muscles you may not even realize you have when anxious

Yeah, I just don't get it. I have cramping in my calves off and on, weird sensations and twitches that come and go, etc. I just don't understand what it could be.

I'm with ya. I remember being super worried about it but in this forum if you type in twitching seems like tons of people with anxiety post about it

You don't have to be anxious to experience twitching or aches or pains. These are all a perfectly NORMAL part of a NORMAL life. IMO, the problem isn't that you're experiencing these things, but instead the problem is that you're anxious and overanalyzing things that those without anxiety (which creates a heightened sense of awareness) wouldn't think twice about. Can anxiety cause these things? Sure. But they can and do exist just as frequently without anxiety, so the key is to treat the anxiety. It won't necessarily make the symptoms go away, but it will teach you how to react (or not react).

There are times when I get them really bad. Most annoying would be my leg it’s more like in the inner crease of my thigh. Oh and chest cause it feels like they are palps. I get it bad when really anxious, stressed, dehydrated, and when I noticed that I haven’t really had any calcium rich foods or potassium.
