Shanowl80 73 Posted March 4, 2019 **Update** I just got home from the gynecologist. Long story short-She said this is part of Perimenopause. I had a repeat ultrasound and the cyst on the left ovary is gone. I have a new cyst on my right ovary. It’s just fluid filled, nothing sinister and will resolve on its own. (She asked if I had any pain from it and I told her I did not). She said I might be a chronic cyst maker. She mentioned birth control but because of the ocular migraines I can only take progesterone birth control. Uterine ablation is another option. I am unsure if I will go with either one right now. Thank you so much for all the help!
Jae 211 Posted March 4, 2019 How would you feel about trying to ride it out? I can't take BC either and I wouldn't dare take progesterone, I know 3 people who got breast cancer a year after taking it, one being my sister. :-/ While it wasn't pretty and the bleeding got super annoying, I just felt dirty all the time, I made it through to the other side without any hormones or drugs, issue solved. lofwyr 215 Posted March 4, 2019 I would encourage you to look through my post history. I am a guy, but my wife is roughly your age, and went through very similar experiences. She had a terrible gynecologist at first, but found one she liked, and this doctor really explored options and possibilities. In her case, she had a growth on her ovary that ended up being endometriosis, so she had a DNC and the ovary removed. She is still having some problems, and would honestly love to be rid of the whole thing, but for obvious reasons they are reluctant.
Shanowl80 73 Posted March 4, 2019 I am not going to take the birth control. The negatives outweigh the positives in my opinion. Especially since I have the ocular migraines. Oh, and my mom had breast cancer in 2017.

Glad it was nothing serious.
Leah1976 301 Posted March 5, 2019 yes it is peri... my gyn told me we start seeing changes close to 40! I bleed heavier than ever which makes me borderline anemic and I have to take iron pills.... I used to make cysts in my ovaries as well.... but they will always go away! I am glad you are ok!!!
