rosie 0 Posted June 27, 2013 Is it common to have anxiety symptoms all day long? I'm not having a panic attack just high levels of anxiety especially if I try to go out to eat, anywhere that I'm not home I feel very uncomfortable, however even in my house I don't feel good either ugh when will this ever go away. why do I have symptoms all day long? dizziness off-balance type of dizziness not where I feel like I'm going to faint similar to if you just got off a boat I feel like I'm walking around in a fog almost as if I'm drunk disconnected. the sad thing is I'm supposed to go on vacation for a whole week to the beach I don't know if I can make it feeling this way what do you guys think. what can I do about this I feel like I'm not getting a break only when I sit down in my house I start feeling a little bit better takes about 20 minutes then when I get up and start moving around again I feel the same

JOYCICLE 654 Posted June 27, 2013 YES ROSIE ! It's totally GAD, generalized anxiety . It's like a low grade panic all the time, vs. a panic attack, which is more like EXTREME panic in a short burst ! I think the beach is exactly what you need. Think of the sunlight as a huge HEALER in the sky. You can do it. Just lay on the beach and ignore everything and focus on how great that sunlight feels. The sun is my mental savior. I feel so great when I've had a lot of sun. I 've so been right where you are,,, it was like that all day every day ! You're n ot alone. That beach will be so good for you . You can do it !
Gilly 1086 Posted June 27, 2013 Rosie yes it is, that is GAD hun. Your body and mind are hyper sensitive and hyper aware. You need to go and see your doctor, it's been a month, getting help early and you can feel better more quickly. I left it years before I saw my doctor and regret not going earlier. rosie 0 Posted June 27, 2013 what can they do to help if I have a medication phobia
jonathan123 2368 Posted June 27, 2013 Hi rosie. Great advice from the staff. Medication in anxiety is not intended as a cure, as in other illnesses. It gives you a chance to sit down and figure out why you feel as you do. Something is keeping your anxiety going. When in a state you can't think clearly and tabs can help you do that. No doctor would suggest medication if they did not think it necessary but short term meds can help a lot. You won't get addicted if that is what is worrying you. Be guided by your doctor. They are so used to anxiety these days. Best wishes. J.
Gilly 1086 Posted June 27, 2013 what can they do to help if I have a medication phobia Put your mind at ease that you are suffering an anxiety disorder, offer advice and possibly some therapy. Yes, medication is an option, and they can help with a phobia in taking it too but meds won't be forced upon you, I don't take meds because I chose not to and my doctor respected that. I am getting therapy though, which is helping me a lot.

Gilly 1086 Posted June 27, 2013 Yes I'm doing CBT. It's a challenge but it is rewarding. Some exercises are scary and take a little leap of faith but I can see the improvement and I have only had 7 sessions so far. I'm also going swimming 2 times a week, something I love but have been too scared to do. I started going in February and at first I had to battle through some serious panic but now I don't have any anxiety doing it and I feel so good in the pool. jonathan123 2368 Posted May 2, 2016 Hi to another jonathan. And welcome to AC . Well now, you seem to have had all the tests so why can't you believe them? HABIT and FEAR combined make a powerful mix, believe me. One feeds on the other. Over a period of time in anxiety we EXPECT it to happen and it does. We sort of 'will it' into being. Fear feeds on fear. You have convinced yourself you have a heart problem so, your mind tells your brain, "You have a heart problem", and your brain, being a loyal servant of the mind, throws up heart symptoms and feelings. No? Believe me, I know. Now this is why so many just don't believe anxiety can do that. 'How could just thinking make it happen? "There is no good or bad but thinking makes it so". Shakespeare. And the old guy was right. I know how trite is the old expression that we hear so often 'It's all in the mind', but it's true. It is! Ah now, that's the easy bit and easy to say, but to do..............! When I had GAD I wore out so many ECG machines I got banned.. Seriously I just would not believe them. Here I am 30 years later and still got a sound heart beat. Why would I not believe them? Because my mind had convinced my brain I had a heart problem. But the brain can be retrained to believe the truth and not the lies the mind sends to it. And the mind can be retrained to stop giving out lies.TRY and accept all the feelings and emotions. By accept I mean don't give them so much credence, so much reality. They are bluffing you and anxiety is the biggest bluffer going, as well as being a liar and a cheat. You will be fine if you THINK your way out just as you THOUGHT your way in. Don't be bluffed. Jon.
