rosie 0 Posted June 20, 2013 Why does my panic disorder make me feel so much worse when I walk around? the dizziness really kicks in the shaking from the inside like you just finished exercising the big huge knot in my stomach the burping and yet when I sit down for a while all the symptoms seem to subside when I get up again and start moving around for awhile they come back again please I could really use some input why this would do that
Gilly 1086 Posted June 20, 2013 Morning anxiety is very common, everyone is different rosie but a lot of things are shared. Some people are more anxious when trying to rest, and feel better moving about, some are the opposite like you. Adrenaline is the key factor, you feel the symptoms because the adrenaline is kicked off by fight or flight response. When you are at rest you feel safe, the anxiety kicks in when you get up to do something because you probably anticipate it now, which can make it happen. Gilly 1086 Posted June 20, 2013 Yes rosie, it is normal, the adrenaline goes to your major organs, it can cause dizziness, feeling off balance, weak legs and arms, rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, sweating etc. I know it's scary, but it won't harm you, you will be ok. It is totally normal symptoms. Try and tell yourself this is anxiety, slow your breathing down, try and calm yourself. Once you accept the symptoms are anxiety, and you do not fear them they will get better. Being scared of them makes them worse, the fear is what feeds the anxiety. jonathan123 2368 Posted June 20, 2013 rosie.Gilly has really said it all. You name it anxiety can do it. It is the most versatile illness going A real adapter to any situation. "IT" waits for you at every corner. Ready to pounce. But you have to say to "IT" "I am in charge here not you so sod off. I just will not allow you to make my life a misery. I've had enough. GO!" Talk to"IT". Ask "IT" what it wants from you. Ask about your life and why you feel the way you do. You may be surprised at the answers you get. Sounds silly? It's not you know. A lot of therapists advocate talking to "IT" because there is a message there if only we delve deeply enough. Try rosie. J.
TheWorst 0 Posted July 3, 2013 I am new here.. Just from a few mins ago, was having an attack, so for me sometimes it helps to distract myself. I like to call it "doing something normal". I am glad I found this site! And Jonathan your post really helped me to have read it... I have thought this way for awhile, to not let IT control me! It works most times, I liked how you said to tell it to "sod off!" lolololol I do pretty much the same, I talk to myself and try to coach myself outta it. Gilly 1086 Posted July 3, 2013 Welcome TheWorst, Jonathan is one wise fellow
jonathan123 2368 Posted July 4, 2013 Thanks Gilly but, as they say, wisdom like beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The old saying "Where ignorance is bliss tis folly to be wise" I often think has some merit. Or has it? I don't know. Regards. J.
jonathan123 2368 Posted July 4, 2013 And Worst. Nothing wrong with talking to yourself. Do it all the time. That's the only way I can get sensible answers!!!!
