Wingnut 13 Posted September 30, 2017 For the past few months my digestive system has been a mess. A few TMI to share....However the past few weeks have been significantly worsening. Slight "shivering" feeling in the abdomen, bowel movements seem to be painful (maybe due to hemorrhoids), extreme tiredness/fatigue, bloating, sharp pains right underneath my right ribcage, nausea, fullness, and just plain not feeling well. My friend's father who is a Chiropractor checked my gallbladder and realized it is very weak and reflexed it. Tonight I have a slight temperature and still every now and then I get a stabbing pain underneath my rib cage. This morning I woke up, moved an inch, and it felt like someone took a knife and stabbed me there for 10 seconds...I am really really really scared as to what is going on and I am about ready to goto the ER or minor ER. These are similar to the symptoms I had right before I started horrendous withdrawals from Zoloft. However, I have only been on my new med (Luvox) for a year, and I am just feeling plain sickly. Any comfort or advice would be great! D':
Catfisk79 5 Posted September 30, 2017 Hi Wingnut, I am sorry you are struggling right now. First thing that came to mind is you might have some chronic constipation happening, especially if you have hemorrhoids. When I first had anxiety attacks, my stomach would go nuts. I was nauseated and often had diarrhea when I was in a panic. You do mention a slight fever, so you might have some sort of virus or the chiropractor might have jarred something causing a reaction. I don't think anything serious is wrong with you though. If you think it would help to see a doctor, then try that. They will likely out your mind at ease. Also, these are all symptoms of anxiety as well. If you are scared about your stomach, your anxiety will cause reactions in your stomach. You are also so stressed about something being wrong that you are hyper-aware of everything out of the norm. You probably just had a gas pain, but your mind won't accept that and let it go. If you start having constant pain and it becomes severe, then go to the doctor. Best wishes!!
Hippo Chondria 0 Posted September 30, 2017 You've had these symptoms before. Though you could have gallstones, very very very very much more likely it is muscle related or due to movement of gas/stool through the instestine. In either case, not serious, though feels unpleasant. I remember getting pains from bowel contraction during anxiety fears that felt like a knife going through my pancreas through to my back. Pancreatic cancer? Colon cancer? Not even gallstones. Any unrelenting pain should be checked of course. But transient sharp pains can be very normal. When you feel these, imagine the gas/stool in your intestine trying to make it around the corner where your colon takes a 'sharp' turn until it finally gets to the straight path again. Don't forget there's more than one curve in your intestinal 'racetrack'. Unorthodox? Perhaps. But it does help me to not panic and instead to simply say...'Whew, that gas/stool passing by hurt like a son of a b**ch...Now, what was I doing again.' Blu74 14 Posted September 30, 2017 I get pains like this all over my abdomen, often in the past, usually when I'm anxious or right before diarrhea or right after eating. Under the ribcage, or lower stomach on the left or right, even sometimes in the side around to my back. With IBS-D I'm just one big pain mess. On a rare occasion if I try to relax & do some deep breathing it will actually go away (easier said than done), doesn't always work but once in a while it does. I don't think it ever really means anything bad or sinister, I've had issues like this for years. My mother in law has had problems with her gallbladder & her problems are much more pronounced and a lot more things are going on for her than just tummy pains. A year ago I was having spasms in my stomach so bad I was rolled up in a ball on the couch. Told my GP and he said it sounded like intestinal spasms, where the intestines basically have like a muscle spasm. Sometimes I take Imodium advanced, the one that also helps gas pain, and sometimes it helps with all the pains all over the place. You can try that & see if it helps, just don't take it too much, I wound up a few tims with a tolerance for it & it stopped working for me, had to lay off of it for a while then go back to it. Holls 1505 Posted September 30, 2017 I had muscle spasms, fever and chills with my diverticulitis.. the pain was much lower though.. around belly button area. You could go to an urgent care and see what they think.. I was nervous about going when I was having the pain but the fever is what made me go in.. I got a CT scan and a round of antibiotics. Sorry I know it's hard to have abdominal pain and to not know what is causing it.
Wingnut 13 Posted October 1, 2017 Thank you all for your replies. I think tomorrow I may go to Urgent Care to be at peace of mind. The stabbing pains are gone, but I have a somewhat aching pain in my back where my kidney is now. Also tonight I have a HORRIFIC headache on the top right side of my head which my friend says is classic signs of gallbladder issues. I’m not sure what the doctor would be able to do, maybe a blood test or urine sample....but I just want to make sure that this is nothing worse or dangerous )’:

Wingnut 13 Posted October 12, 2017 Hi Holls! I still am not feeling so well. I went to my primary care provider who sent me for a blood test. Everything returned within normal ranges except for my LDL is 2 points above "normal".....So I need to workout and eat better no doubt. The pains have drastically improved, but now the pain has moved to my LEFT side under my stomach. My friend's father (the chiropractor) is really adamant about me doing the gallbladder flush. (You drink 2 glasses of epsom salts, then after 2 hours drink oil and lemon together). However, due to my medications (Luvox), I am VERY afraid of doing this. One being that Luvox is reactive to everything, and also that it short acting; meaning any "flush" out of me will send all of built up medication in my body out. This really sucks because I start a brand new exciting job/career in 2 weeks. I feel exhausted when I wake up every morning and just haven't been the same for months. I don't know what to do really. Thanks for keeping me updated.. I've been thinking about you.. ok I'm no Dr but please please reconsider the flush... My gastro told me the detox diets etc do nothing.. your body has it's natural process that will take care of you.you might do more harm than good. I have pain under my left side especially after I eat.. I have bowl problems. Sluggish bowls And I've had diverticulitis. I think sometimes I notice more with my stomach Bec I'm always anxious I'll have another diverticulitis attacks.. do you think you focus a lot on your stomach?? Congratulations on your new job!!!! Two weeks is a long time and I bet you are going to feel so much better by then. Just remember you went to see your PCP and if he/she thought something was really really wrong you would have been sent for more than a blood test. So that's a good good thing!!! Wingnut 13 Posted October 14, 2017 Thank you for your concern Holls (: The blood test/urinalysis coming back Normal is a good sign there’s nothing “threatening” going on at least. The pains have actually mostly disappeared, but I still never have the urge to “go” to the bathroom, and my stomach burns on occassion. About 2 weeks ago I had my hair sent out for tissue and mineral evaluation. The results came back showing I’m almost low in everything...Sodium, Potassium, Iron, etc. It also gave diagnoses that I am in an “exhaustion” phase, and that my adrenal, Biliary, and even Thyroid functioning are not optimal or worse. Most of it due probably to chronic Stress. (I’m 22 with chronic stress....this isn’t normal). This kind of scared me as I got the results back today and started pumping up on vitamins. I am so worried now about this job coming up because between my medication, not feeling well, and these test results, I’m afraid of losing this lifetime opportunity! I just pray for the best now and healing. ):
Holls 1505 Posted October 15, 2017 Stress/anxiety is so so exhausting!!! Taking vitamins will help.. but so will learning how to manage the anxiety.. wether it be therapy, working out, meditation etc... When I was at the hight of my anxiety I was so mentally and physically wore out. It took awhile to feel strong again. It all takes time. You are very young.. so you will find what works for you and things will get better. I'm excited for you and your new job.. don't worry.. I bet this job was out in your path for a reason.. maybe it's going to help you. I just recently starting back at my old job and I work from home.. I'm so glad I did it because my mind doesn't have the idle time like before. Not only does it keep you busy, you can be proud of what you have accomplished at the end of the day. Yes, saying a prayer for you and your new job !!
