moneakers 3 Posted September 6, 2017 This is a great topic! Let's see mine are/were: heart attack (as a teenager) brain tumor aortic aneurysm pancreatic cancer pancreatitis POTS random vessel in my abdomen bursting believing I would hemorrhage after I gave birth lymphoma parasites stomach cancer uterine prolapse And then all the ones I think about in passing but maybe don't actively worry about but am afraid I might get at some point. It's exhausting.

I thought I had ovarian cancer, pancreatic cancer, colon cancer, lung cancer, stomach, HIV, cervical cancer, ALS, brain tumor, lupus, kidney disease and now bladder cancer. Thay all felt so real at the time. Wow, seven months is a long time. Did you have real "symptoms" of ALS or simply some twitching in the legs or something like so many. It's such a rare disease so I haven't feared it...YET!

Even when my twitches went away I still was fearful. Yes I've never experienced anything like that before. I'm better but I still get triggered by ALS posts on here. I have to be very careful. Yes yes it is a rare disease but when I googled, it told me ALS so I saw that and didn't look back damn Google.
Bailey 1 Posted September 22, 2017 These lists did make me feel a little better that I'm not the only one. I really just developed health anxiety about a month ago. Here's why: 8 years ago I was told I had a cyst in my right kidney. I had a CT scan for diverticulitis and they found the cyst. It was never mentioned again. Stupid me did a google search instead of asking the doctor about it and found out that certain types of cysts could be cancerous. Did I ask then? Nope. I just took my chances since I had no symptoms. Fast forward to this summer and I started having back pain and some flank pain but nothing serious and it didn't last long. The back pain then moved to my upper back and ribs. I decided I had Kidney cancer and rib cancer. Went to the ER. No bone cancer. Now I've decided I have kidney cancer and liver cancer. Although I do worry about other cancers, nothing has put me into such a state as my current cancer fear. I'm going crazy.

olivet 37 Posted September 23, 2017 I forgot appendicitis and Lyme disease. My brother had both. (He's 100% fine now.) when I was worried about appendicitis I called him and within two seconds he was like "you don't have it." ?
Mocha1 42 Posted September 25, 2017 Awesome survey! I'm really late to the party on this one. My list is surprisingly short. I make a distinction between the one-off thoughts that last less than a week, and list only the ones that have consumed months or years of my life: MS Esophageal Cancer Lung Cancer Currently: ALS & Nasal/Throat Cancer (I've had the ALS fear since I started twitching 19 months ago, haven't been able to shake it)
Blu74 14 Posted September 26, 2017 too many...I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot here.... stomach cancer/colon cancer/cancer in the stomach somewhere in general (after 22 yrs of tummy issues it's apparent it's nothing serious) Acoustic Neuroma (from left ear ringing, probably just tinnitus) Pancreatic Cancer Gallbladder cancer Kidney cancer Brain tumor, all kinds, I don't discriminate Skin cancer Uterine cancer/ovarian cancer (ruled out by negative tests) Heart problems (that's a new one because being over 40 chest pain is now seemingly always deadly in my world) Breast cancer (because....well, why not) and this is my favorite....when I was a very young teen I thought I had prostate cancer until I found out girls don't have a prostate. if there was a rotten tomatoes award for hypochondria that would be it)
