Ihadcancer 321 Posted February 27, 2017 I noticed this forum is pretty dead. I know I'm not the only person who wants to lose at least 10 more lbs! Anyone interested in some sort of challenge where we can encourage each other and share suggestions or even recipes for healthy eating? Exercise helps clear my head. I enjoy going for walks in the park on the weekend with my husband and I usually go to the gym 3 days a week but the next two weeks I have several doctor's appointments and my yearly Blue Cross biometric screening on gym days. Here's a sample menu a high school friend who has her doctorate in Critical Nutrition made up for me. She also teaches at a college in New York, works with a famous dance troupe and has her own practice for people with eating disorders. For my weight, I needed to eat approximately 1,500 calories a day to lose weight in a healthy way. Breakfast 1 cup cooked cereal 6 oz. JOYCICLE 654 Posted February 27, 2017 I am not ready to go on a ' diet' but I am making two steps per month to improve health. I figure rather than a radical change which I may not stick with , I can handle small steps. So for 3 wks now I have been doing situps daily and I cut out baked goods ( desserts). A friend and I are doing it together and challenging each other. We started out with just 15 situps a day but we both are one upping the other and now are up to SIXTY in just a few weeks time. I want to add one positive thing and subtract one positive thing each month. Then we add another the next month while still doing the first. So we added situps and cut baked. For March, we are adding those little ankle weights but not if we are out in public, lol.
JOYCICLE 654 Posted February 27, 2017 Isn't it funny / strange/ ironic that the one part of this forum that could literally help every single member, is the one with the least posts and no activity?

It really is! I have to assume that people don't realize how any physical activity can help clear our heads and get our minds on other things. I never worry about my health when I'm at the gym! Exercise is like an energy pill for me! I can work out like crazy and leave the gym with more energy than I've had in over 20 years! There's only 3 of us who do more than 1 class a day. We're 64, 66 and 70 and we're all hooked! Good for you and your friend! That sounds like a plan! I don't consider myself on a diet. I was bad about not eating if I eat alone. I'm eating more now than before. This is our intermediate class. It has several who are in their 80's.
Ihadcancer 321 Posted February 28, 2017 30 Day Walking Schedule
Ihadcancer 321 Posted March 2, 2017 March 1st, I did my 30 minutes of walking outdoors at 10 minutes each. It was super easy. Supposed to hit the gym today for the treadmill but may have to bike in the house instead. I have aerobics for an hour tomorrow and that's a rest day. Waiting for a phone call to schedule that MRU and cystocopy. If they call early enough, I might have time to get to the gym before all the classes begin. JOYCICLE 654 Posted May 20, 2017 I am still doing my stuff. I just haven't posted in a bit. Had a little real life drama to contend with. But Gilly and I started something on youtube two days ago. The Bikini Body Mommy work out. It's ROUGH! It's difficult and my legs are crying all the time now and I've only done it twice!
