Ihadcancer 321 Posted February 10, 2017 I was born constipated! My GP has me take 2 Colace stool softeners every day. It takes 3 days for them to start working. The first BM will be super dry so hard to get out and you might have some loose stool afterwards but only that day. If you need to, you can take 3 Colace for a few days. That's usually done for patients who can't push like after surgery. It makes your poo more like peanut butter. Then go to 2. I had constipation with colon c****r but it was a blockage with loads of abdominal pains, unable to pass gas or eat. NO bowel sounds and loads of upper abdominal discomfort. Two days is normal for some people. I actually mark mine on a calendar so I can prevent constipation. If I miss a day, I eat Fig Newtons with a hot drink or Triskets with dip or cheese and that might take 2 days to break up that clog. This is not a symptom of colon c****r unless you have a huge and long growing tumor. I just happened to take Immodium and it dried up my poo behind the 2 cm tumor, helping it to be found before c****r spread to my distant organs. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
