Quirky Jessi 2 Posted July 21, 2012 How do you go about finding quiet time away for yourself? Do you tell your family or friends that you need to be left alone? Do you just schedule time every day for it? Do you run off when you need it?
shaun 6 Posted July 21, 2012 I live with my brother and we work different hours so I don't have an issue with finding alone time. I actually like my own company, I spend more time on my own than in the company of other people. This works for me, it allows me to enjoy the company of other people without it becoming tiresome. Gilly 1086 Posted July 21, 2012 I find it very hard to have 'me time' Looking after my mum I'm on call 24/7 and it feels like she has radar or something. Every time I have run a nice bubble bath and about to get in she calls needing me, like clockwork. She even says were you about to get a bath lol It will be 3 years on September 1st since she came home from the hospital and I have not had 1 day off. I squeeze in some time to go for a walk and I have found myself staying up until 3 or 4 am just so I know I have a little time where she wont need me because she's sleeping. Then I'm able to chill for a while, watch a movie, play a video game.
karlajj 0 Posted July 21, 2012 I am one of the lucky ones that actually lives alone (other than the menagerie of animals of course) for the most part; my girlfriend lives with me part time (3 days a week) but is like me with alone time so we have no problem communicating that to each other. As far as the "outside" world goes I usually just stop using social media for a time, turn off the phone and ignore emails and apologize later to those I ignored. Quirky Jessi 2 Posted July 21, 2012 She even says were you about to get a bath lol It will be 3 years on September 1st since she came home from the hospital and I have not had 1 day off. Ugh! Are you able to talk to her about that at all? If she even realizes that you were about to take a bath or something, then that sounds like she's not even trying to let you have any space. It might be funny that it always happens, but 3 years later, that's gotta be frustrating...
