brit 14 Posted December 9, 2014 Right now where I live it's two o'clock in the morning and I'm having an anxiety attack. It feels so hard to breathe and my chest and throat feel tight, I can also feel acid that wants to come up. I also feel really weak and I don't know what to do to be able to sleep again and I really need to because I have to get up at 5:00 for school, most of the time I'm falling a asleep during school because of a lack of sleep and I end up missing important things, I just need this feeling to go away
jonathan123 2368 Posted December 9, 2014 Hi brit. The fear of not being able to sleep prevents you sleeping! (that is stating the obvious). Have you asked for any medication? You may not want to but as you are studying it may help you to feel less tired during the day. Your anxiety symptoms are frightening you and who could sleep while frightened? Can you see the cycle. 'Symptoms; worry, can't sleep; worry; more anxiety; can't sleep? It's the old merry- go- round. Do see your GP or some professional help about this as it could go on and you will feel more depleted. If I tell you to calm yourself it won't mean a lot at the moment. Once the anxiety, the fear goes you will sleep, and in any case nature has a way of getting you to sleep eventually. Insomnia is common in anxiety so try not to worry about it overmuch. Jon.
