Tickle sensation in toes threatening first panic attack in a long time

Recommended Posts

These feeing simply won’t leave. Started in September as occasionally  in the arch of my foot, then a few toes in the opposite foot a while later, then the same toes on the arch foot. They have become almost completely persistent with occasional breaks at random intervals. Wearing socks helps tremendously though I can still feel it through them sometimes.

I’m at a loss. I’m struggling to let myself believe anxiety is the cause this time. I’m beginning to fear MS or a brain tumor. I know the chances are small... but the fear is starting to seem logical from my perspective. I try to ignore it and blame anxiety or a pinched nerve. The both feet thing makes me fear it’s too specific to be a nerve. It does go away usually when I sleep. Not always though. Often I wake up not really feeling it but there are times it’s there right away. There is no numbness, weakness, or other scary symptoms at all, just the odd sensations. I try to remember back to my twitch fears which lasted a year or more. They often persisted through sleep and had me dreading it. Now that I don’t fear them or even think about them, they’re long gone.

There are times that it lets up if I relax... but I can’t always make it disappear. The pinky in one hand started around the same time my first toes did too, though I think that is related to a very tight and injured shoulder. If I work on that neck muscle and arm it tends to let up for days at a time.

I need some encouragement. I greatly fear going to a doctor in case I get horrible news. But living this way is starting to be a drag as well. I don’t want this to ruin Christmas. 😢 Any words or encouragement or stories of similar things that were nothing would be most welcome. Thanks.

Due to covid we all are limited to our homes. Which means no social life at all. No interactions and no change of environment or mood. I started feeling unwell in february 2020 and my symptoms got worst within a month. I sought medical help but because of covid ,our state hospital preferred online consultations. I had undergo several investigations and all my reports were negative. My family physician called me and told me I've RA and that is the cause of my whole body pain and abdominal dysfunction. But my test for that was negative too. It's now December almost end of this year and I'm still in sam mental and physical state. At the end the specialists concluded that it's all in my head. The anxiety depression and panic attacks are induced by stupid undiagnosed ailment I have. I'm now without any medical help just trying to ease my mental health.

These tips really helped me out. I was frustrated and exhausted but yet again I gave it a last try and it is working. Physically broken but atleast trying to be stable mentally.

Hi ! Definitely don't let this ruin your Christmas!!! I'm sorry this is still worrying you. I personally don't think it's something sinister at all. I was talking to my sister in law last week and she is waking up in the morning with her arm being completely numb and having tingle feelings during the day. She has been remodeling and she thinks it's from pulling or pinching something while painting. My husband had this in both arms and after a Dr visit and some steroids he was fine. I started having both my arms fall completely asleep and it was so painful when I would wake up..I changed out my pillow and got a flatter one and I haven't had the issue. It could be something as simple as the way you sit during the day. Hugs..you are okay.

When you went to the chiropractor they weren't concerned right? I would remind myself of that to when this worry flares. Steroids from your Dr could help it once and for all..

I just went to the chiro yesterday and he said the other foot stating to do it is to be expected due to the pelvis being twisted.  So it pinches both sides.  After talking to him and starting to believe it is nothing... it didn't both me almost at all yesterday. I am going to go forward believing it is mostly anxiety and nerves and trust it will go away soon.  There will be days when it's bad...but I will try to get it to go away as I did the twitching.
