Papyapa 1 Posted March 16, 2019 Anyone ever had a twitch for 3+ months? My bottom lip won't stop. Anytime I use my lip ( kiss, smile, lick my lip) it starts for a few seconds then stops. ALL DAY-EVERY DAY! Tell me this is nothing to worry about??? I can't stop freaking out! It isn't even 1 side of my lip. it is the muscle between my chin and bottom lip... ALS? MS? Something bad happening with my nervous system?
Bella P 75 Posted March 17, 2019 If you had ALS or MS you would be having a lot more issues than this, so don’t worry, I think you can put that worry on the back burner If you drink a lot of caffeine it can cause some muscle twitching. Vitamin deficiencies and certain medications can as well. Stress and anxiety also cause it by pumping adrenaline throughout your body to get ready to either fight or flight. I’m sure that you have nothing to worry about. If you drink a lot of caffeine, try drinking less, and see if it stops. If you don’t take vitamins maybe start taking a multivitamin. If it starts to bother you too much it wouldn’t hurt to see a doctor, but I don’t think this is anything serious.
DoxieMoxie 316 Posted March 18, 2019 Twitching means nothing, normal people twitch all the time. But anxiety can certainly cause it and flare it even more, especially if you noticed it, Googled, and now fear it. Twitching can go on for months or even years. The key is not to pay it any attention. I still twitch from time to time, especially when stress is high.
ZenCube 59 Posted March 19, 2019 It's been 3 years and I still feel them. Still able to benchpress over 100kg tho and nothing happened. No atrophy, no weakness save for the one percieved that wound up being nothing but imagination. Once you notice these damn twitches they have a way of popping up 24/7 feeding onto the attention you give them. Lay off the coffeine, get your sleep cycles in order, hydrate... that may tone them down some.
clearhead 129 Posted March 19, 2019 Three years twitching for me as well. Hot spots are the arches of both feet. Calves, thighs and buttocks. Also torso when I stretch. No weakness. My doctor told me that anxiety is triggering them. He told me to ignore them.
