SEA81 2 Posted May 2, 2012 I'm not sure if this is OCD, but I've also got really bad Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and I've noticed this is worse when my GAD is bad. Anyway, can anyone else relate to this? When I turn on my TV or stereo, the volume has to be on an even number unless it's 33 or 47 (which are my "favorite numbers"). I'm obsessed with even/odd numbers and those two favorite numbers. I'll even delete the emails out of my account until I get down to a certain number I can live with. Does this make sense? shaun 6 Posted May 3, 2012 This is classic obsessive compulsive disorder. I don't think Generalized Anxiety Disorder is related to this kind of behaviour, althought I might be wrong. I think you are showing clear signs of obsessive compulsive disorder, and you should seek professional help before the problem escalates and takes control of your life. Rose @ Walnut Acre 1 Posted May 3, 2012 This does sound like a symptom of obsessive compulsive disorder. I have OCD and when mine is flaring up numbers are a big thing with me. I don't like the number 6, and do like the numbers 7 and 10. Sometimes I find myself simply counting in my mind for no discernible reason.
Quirky Jessi 2 Posted May 3, 2012 I'm not a doctor, but yes, it does sound like you have some mild OCD going on. I'm kinda surprised that your favorite numbers didn't end up being even, too....are they something special to you? If you have someone that is helping you with your GAD, you might want to mention the OCD signs, too, befoer they end up getting out of hand later.
