Concerned-pa 17 Posted November 6, 2020 So, I've been doing pretty good for a while (I'm a somewhat regular poster of issues). I've been battling lower back pain for a few months (physical therapy, heat, etc.). That's been an on/off success. Anyways, back in October (early), I was working outside with my wife and I felt sort of a odd tugging feeling my lower right abdomen. I didn't think anything of it, and it went away. Then later in the month, I started getting burning/cramping sensations in my upper abdomen. Sometimes not long after eating, sometimes on an empty stomach. It felt a lot like your stomach does the first day or so after the worst of a stomach bug. I figured it was gastritis, and just went about life. Then about a week later, the pulling sensation was back, and now it's more like a dull pain ache. It hurts a bit when I bend over, and better when I'm lying down. My lower back pain is also much worse now (which makes me concerned they're both related).I can feel what I THINK is a tiny lump in my lower abdomen on the right just above the groin. Along with this, I'm having more bouts of the gastritis feelings. Bowel movements are relatively normal. Additionally, I have lost about 5-6lbs in the last week and a half. Appetite is still okay, but eating always has me on edge now that I'm sometimes get these pain afterward. I can't shake the feeling that something is VERY wrong. Keri329 0 Posted November 6, 2020 I've dealing with dull mid left back pain and reflux, upper abd pain and intermittent nausea for over a month. Also lost 7 lbs in 2 weeks. Very concerned about pancreatic cancer as well :( My lipase is also slightly elevated. CT abd and abd ultrasound show nothing but I, too, can't shake the feeling something is wrong and it's being missed.

He checked my abdomen and didn't see anything to be alarmed about (even though I can feel a pull or heaviness there. He checked for inguinal hernias (that was uncomfortable) and said there's a 50/50 chance I have the start of one on the right side but it's very small and only noticeable when I cough. I don't think that's my problem. So now I'm back to cancer. I'm sure it's no Pancreatic due to my slow onset of symptoms, but I have definitely have been getting upper middle/right side back pain since this summer, and really hope it's not spine cancer or cancer that has metastasized. I know it’s difficult but I would at least try to trust your dr. And I know how anxiety keeps us from doing that. I feel a tugging sensation as well. Along with a random flutter. I hate how anxiety can just steal our joy away from us 😢

I’ve been having this same type of issue for about 5 months. It comes and goes, and I notice it more when I’m stressed and feeling anxious. Mine is felt about a couple of inches to the right of my naval. It’s hard to explain the feeling. Almost like a burning ache. Sometimes it feels better if I stretch my abdomen, or press the area. I just read about visceral hypersensitivity which is the term used to describe the experience of pain within the inner organs (viscera) at a level that is more intense than normal. It appears likely that the visceral hypersensitivity seen in some IBS patients as a result of changes in nervous system functioning on both the level of the intestines and the brain. In such cases, the nerve pathways in the gastrointestinal tract become sensitized to stimulation, resulting in over-reactivity and resulting in pain amplification. So basically the more we stress about it the longer the pain stays.
